Love these cups!

We have purchased many different brands looking for the perfect (haha!) spill proof cup that can handle even the roughest treatment my daughter can throw at it, and these cups are PERFECT!

My daughter has special nutrition requirements that lead us to need to use a powdered nutrition drink along with milk to help her maintain weight. Our biggest problem has always been that the inserts that make the cups "spill proof" are extremetly hard if not impossible to clean and sterilize, then to put back together. I shouldn't need an Engineering degree to put a kids cup together. These Tommee Tippee cups are so easy to take apart to clean, not to mention easy and quick to put back together, especially when in a rush. The few times I've had issues with powder stitcking to the crevices in the lids near the valves, it's nothing a quick pass with a nipple brush couldn't fix before tossing into the dishwasher.

While I'll gladly be the first to admit these aren't 100% spill proof, these are kids cups and accidents will happen. I have found that when these cups do leak, it's commonly due to my user error--not ensuring the valves were fully in place, or I have over-filled the cup. My daughter drops these 100 times a day--throws them, drops them when the car door is opened, and just plain abused these and they have held up fabulously. I found it easy to tell when the valve has come loose after the cup has been dropped and liquid comes through the vent hole and pools on the lid. I quickly pop it open, snap the valve back in place and voila! It's spill proof once again. I have also had spillage through the seams of the lid where the threads are located--I usually notice this when I have over-filled the cup.

I also adore the fact that the colors and patterns geared toward boys easily translate well for girls--the dinosaur and robot versions are one of our favorites. We have quite a few diffent patterns of this cup, and I like that the color palettes used in all the cups make it so I don't have to spend time matching lids to cups! You can easily mix and match.

The only real problem I have with these cups is that I am having a hard time finding replacement valves for the lids. We have misplaced a few of the clear silicone part of the valve, and it would be nice to replace the valve without searching high and low, or purchasing more cups when the cups are still in functioning order.

I first bought these sippy cups because of the good reviews I came across and because they were on sale. I was looking for spill proof and easy to clean. These cups do not only spill but they have several pieces that you need to pull apart and put together in order to use. I had no problem doing (children used Bjorn bottles). These parts were hard to pull apart and put back together. If these pieces are not cleaned properly, it leaves the liquid trapped inside. I now solely use Nuby sippy cups (hardly no spill, lighter, easier to hold and clean), which both my children actually prefer.

    This cup is amazing. The only issue I have, which is my own error, is taking the lid off. I always tighten it too tight. My son (15 months) loves his cups. The only leaking we get is from his mouth or when the cup is dropped/thrown on the floor. Even then it's very few drops not a "spill". The size of the cup was a bit awkword at first, but he got use to it rather quickly. As long as you remember to put the leak stopper in correctly your cup should be leak proof as well.

      I switched to the Tommee Tippee sippy cup after using the playtex sippy cup for the longest time and I was so happy i made the switched. I liked the playtex sippy but it always leaked. The tommee tippee sippy cup never leaks, i might leak if you don't tighten it all the way. Greay buys my 2 year old loves it.

          We have tried almost every sippy cup around and this is by far the best!
          I read some of the previous reviews and anyone that has problems with them leaking are not putting them together properly. If you read the directions ( which are not difficult)on how to put them together you will have no problems with leaking at all!

                If this cup is leaking on you, then you do not have it together the right way! We have tried almost every other brand of sippy cup and this is the only one we can find that truly does not leak. Make sure the little round white knob is pushed all the way into the small hole and you won't have a leak. We used all stages and have been happy with them all!

                These are the best "sippys" around! My 4th child is now using the orginal set we bought 5 years ago...so they last awhile! They are truly spill proof...just make sure you have the valves pushed in all the way. I also appreciate, as others pointed out, how easy it is to clean and you can get potential mold residue wiped away easily with a q-tip. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that the base is bigger so it doesn't really fit the car set cup holder. I also they wish they had it in a 12oz size. It's HOT here in Key West so the kids go through A LOT of water.

                  I bought these cups to try out with my 3 year old before a family trip on an airplane, because I wanted a cup that was actually "spill proof" so I didn't have to worry about spills or leaks on the plane. This cup is just that... it doesn't spill when left laying on it's side or upside down. I will say they do have a two-part valve mechanism, but so do most cups these days so that didn't bother me. All in all, I am very pleased with these cups!

                      I bought these for my toddler who loves and uses straw sippy cups. The parts are difficult to put together, by that I mean attaching the straw to the piece that attaches to the lid. The white part that attaches to the lid often cam loose or undone and would cause the contents of the cup to spill, if not gush out. If the straw did stay where it was supposed to stay the suctione created via the straw would continue to siphon up through the straw creating a mess as well. The bulbous bottom makes it difficult to use in cup holders in the car, too. I wouldn't recomend this to anyone. I threw mine away.

                          My son is 16 months and we needed a new sippy cup after he started biting into the soft nipple spout sippy cups he had before. I wanted something cute, spill proof, and something my son would drink from easily. So far this is a great cup! No problems with leaks and there is only a few pieces to wash which is not bad! A+ from us! I need to go back and get more!

                          This cup was the only one my little guy would drink milk from, and, now that we're past sippy cup as a necessity, we still use them for travel or if he wants water for bedtime. They look like a little commuter cup, and really are spillproof. The little silicone gasket might be intimidating at first, but just pop it out from the hard plastic piece (so you have the lid, and the 2-part gasket), throw it in the dishwasher, then when clean make sure the little silicone button goes through the hard plastic hole, and easy peasy back in business. I've had a far harder time cleaning those straw-top sippy cups than these. We've used them for almost two years, and they still look and work great!
