I feel compelled to write a review because I thought these were awful at first and was about to return them until I watched a you tube video of how to assemble them. If you dont push the clear silicone piece into the white plastic piece it's very difficult to get anything to come through the straw and it leaks. However, if you assemble it correctly (which is easy once you know how to do it but they dont tell you how in the directions) it's an awesome cup. My 10 month old daughter has no issues at all using it.

Very Disappointing!

We loved the Tommee Tippee Explora sippy cups and water bottles, so I assumed we'd love these straw cups, too. Wrong!

We loved the Tommee Tippee Explora sippy cups and water bottles, so I assumed we'd love these straw cups, too. Wrong!

First of all, they came with no instructions. I had to go online to find a video of how to take apart the valve & straw systems, wash them, then put them back together. If I didn't have internet access, I wouldn't have been able to wash them properly.

Secondly, they require LOTS of suction to get started. It's a challenge for an adult. I can't imagine how hard my 3yo has to work to get anything out. Opening the lid and getting the straw to pop out requires adult assistance, too.

Finally, while they are technically leak- and spill-proof, liquid still gets out. Turn them upside down and shake them -- no leaks! But fluid seems to creep up the straw and run out onto the table when the cup is standing up and the straw is out. It seems that the engineers didn't take Capillary Attraction into consideration when designing the valve system.

    It was a pain to get the straw back into the cup after we took it out to wash it. We gave it to our daughter and she tried it and then refused to drink from it. It can be pretty hard to get any liquid out of it. I tried and it really takes a lot to get liquid. She's been using straws for over a month now. So back to the store these cups will go!

    Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

        These cups are absolutely wonderful and perform as indicated. BUT, do no put hot (or warm for that matter) liquids in them. The spill-roof suctioning systems seems to malfunction when doing so. If you still to cold or room temperature liquids, you'll love them and so will your little one.

              I purchased this after reading online that this brand was leak proof. Since this isn't my first time experimenting with a straw cup, i filled it with water over the sink before giving it to my 13 month old daughter. If you turn it upside down and give it a itte squeeze, it pours water out! I packaged it back up and am planning to return it today!

                The other reviewers must be using the product wrong. These sippy cups are awesome, the lid closes, it's insulated, it's spill proof, and it's made to be easily cleaned (not difficult if directions on how to reassemble are read) Once figured out it makes so much sense and is super easy. I also feel good knowing that all the pieces are clean and there isn't some grime lurking around somewhere.

                Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

                    I use these for water for my one year old. She's able to close the flip top but not open it, so I open it for her. But the straw started getting stuck after a couple of weeks, on both cups, and now, after less than a month, they don't open. They're also annoying to take apart and put together for cleaning up. The instructions that came with were so poor, but I eventually figured it out with some trial and error. Have to get a new set. Waste of money. Can I get a refund?

                          This cup is more leak proof than any other straw cup we have tried. They didn't leak at all at first, but I think my daughter has damaged her straw and they may be why her is leaking now. The other 3 are still doing great. For those who can't get liquid up the straw, you aren't putting it together correctly. The clear part at the bottom of the straw has to completely snap into place with the white valve BEFORE you put in place in the cup! If you do this is suctions great, if they are not fully snapped together, it doesn't suction at all. I found the instructions easy to follow and my kids love these cups!

                          Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

                              I bought a twin pack of these cups for my one year old. She loves using a cup with a straw. You had the cuteness of the design and leak-proof!! HA HA this cup is a JOKE!! I tried everything I could to get something to come up the straw and had no luck at all. It was a big waste of money!
