I've been using this bassinet for my first baby who is now a month old. I don't know if it is that this product is great or I just have a very good baby (probably both but again I am a new mother so I have nothing to compare it to!). My daughter absolutely loves the vibrating and womb sounds it makes! However, I would not turn the vibrating above the lowest settings because it seems to get very strong. Additionally, the bottom is great to store blankets and bedding in. I also love how it comes with its own cover and once you take that off, the actual mattress pad is SO easy to wipe down if your baby's diaper leaks or he/she spits up. It is pretty light weight and easy to move from room to room if need be. My only concern is the overhead part which you velcro on and sometimes falls down or my baby rips down so I often check her in it to make sure it isn't covering her face.

I would think twice before buying this item for the following four reasons...
1. The bassinet comes with only one sheet. NONE of the universal bassinet sheets on the market fit the pad(Carter's, BRU, Koala, etc.), so I am stuck with washed bassinets sheets that I will never use. The tag under the pad says that only Summer Infant sheets fit the pad, but no one sells them. I spoke with someone at Summer Infant - they said they don't sell the sheets separately. So we have to wash the same sheet over and over every day if we want our baby to sleep on a clean surface.
2. The velcro for the hood is positioned in a way that if you don't have the hood up, the hard/scratchy side of the velcro is inside the bassinet. So when my baby stretches, he scratches the back of his hands on the hard velcro surface.
3. My baby is just three weeks old. We have only used the bassinet's vibration and sound moderately, yet have had to change the batteries twice. Nothing like having the vibration stop working in the middle of the night.
4. Maybe my baby is just sensitive, but he is very uncomfortable on the thin pad and relitively hard surface. I tried buying a Carter's universal quilted bassinet pad cover, but of course, it doesn't fit and Summer Infant doesn't sell one that does.

Comments about Carters 1011192 Carter's Little Zoo Bassinet:

I am currently using this bassinet for my six week old. She is a big baby and came in just under 10lbs at birth. I love this bassinet because I can roll it from room to room. The storage basket underneath is very spacious. I can even fit my boppy pillow there when I'm not using it. I bought a bassinet mattress pad to place on top of the one that came with the bassinet since I read so many reviews about how thin the original one is. I use koala baby bassinet sheets that I bought on sale at BRU and they fit fine. I agree it is a pain in the butt to assemble but once it is set up, it is well worth the time. I never leave the canopy down when she is in it. I only put it down when I am going to take her out but I can take her out without putting it down. Overall it is well worth the price and I am very pleased with my purchase.

Comments about Carters 1011192 Carter's Little Zoo Bassinet:

I would not recommend this product to anyone. It was extremely difficult to assemble and is of poorly made quality. There is really no way to store it once my baby is done with the product and I don't think it could ever be reassembled again

Comments about Carters 1011192 Carter's Little Zoo Bassinet:

As a first time parent, I wasn't exactly sure what to look for in a bassinet. Most bassinets look the same, so we went with this Carter's model. This is a functional bassinet, but there are things that could be better.

There is an attachment on the side of the bassinet that produces white noise sounds and vibrations. The vibrating feature goes from high vibration to low vibration. Why would you want to startle your newborn with a high vibration as you try to set it on low? Would make much more sense for the dial to start and 1 and then go up to 6.

Also, the bassinet mattress does not take standard sized sheets! We bought an extra bassinet sheet and tried using it (Carter's brand)--the foam mattress curls up inside of the sheet! It does not even come close to fitting. Very disappointing.

It would also be nice if the canopy would be removable. Once your newborn grows a couple inches, you end up hitting their head on the canopy. Yes, you can move the canopy down, but the fabric hangs into the bassinet--with all the warnings of suffocation and SIDS on everything, this does not seem ideal at all.

Look for a nicer model! Especially when investing so much in it!

Pretty easy to put together. Daughter sleeps fine in it. Wish the cover around the sides was easier to take off and wash. We don't use the noise or vibration. Good storage space underneath for blankets and sheet.

Great product! The storage area underneath is a great spot to put blankets, bibs, burp clothes, diapers and extra pjs. I also love the vibration and womb sounds; they seem to sooth my daughter back to sleep and help especially when she is fussy after late night feedings. I strongly recommend this bassinet to anyone! It was easy to put together and very easy to clean!

My newborn likes this bassinett when I have it on the low vibration setting. He sleeps in it for about 3 hours each night. Unfortunately, it goes through batteries quickly. We change the 3 AA's 2-3x a week. Also I do not like that to turn it on or off the low setting you have to go through the other 5 speeds first. To change the batteries you need a screw driver. It is easy to move from room to room I just wish it plugged in.

We use this bassinet all over the house. I pull it where ever the baby needs to sleep -- the living room, my bedroom, the dining room, etc. It comes in very handy with a newborn. The only issue I have with it is that you cannot take the cover off (except the mattress cover) and machine wash it. To clean it, you have to take the bassinet partially apart and hand wash the pieces. It is a sturdy piece of furniture though, and I'd say it's worth the price. Just try to keep your kid from pooping and spitting up on it...
