I tried out this product in the stores and it didnt seem to be too big and obnoxious at the time, but over the last few months as we've had to carry around the growing boy the car seat seems very heavy compared to other moms. Also my son is only 21 lbs and we are already having to look for another carseat for him because the harness is getting too tight. I thought we'd at least be able to get to a year but he's only 10 months. The straps seem to be short also, and one side seems tighter than the other.

I purchased this product quickly after my other carseat was involved in a serious collision. (Carseat held up great, though) It was the only one that BRU had in stock that would fit in my existing base. I thought my old Graco Snugride was heavy, but it was nothing compared to this one. My daughter is about 17 lbs now & I can barely lift her, and I am 5'8". Even my 6'+ husband and my dad struggle. The buckles are awful as well. So hard to buckle and the straps have very little give. I typically love Graco products, but this one not so much.

All that being said, it does seem like a very safe, comfortable car seat. Snaps in and out of base & stroller easily. Just too heavy and bulky for this mama!

This is a pretty good infant car seat. Nice color, very warm. The buckles are difficult to adjust at times, I think this is the only downfall. It is heavy, but my son is nearly out of it anyway. I saw some other reviewers say they wish they'd known how heavy it was and it was a waste.. You need an infant car seat pretty much no matter what. Yes you could skip and start with a convertible all in one that fits infant to toddler, but those seats typically don't fit in to a stroller, so how would that work? Unless you are ok with not needing to ever snap a car seat right into a stroller, then that's not a solution. Also, yes the seat can hold up to 35 lbs, but you have to read about height restrictions too. Most infant car seats only allow up to 29 or 30 inches, so no matter which brand you buy, your child will outgrow it quickly!

I think this is a great car seat. It is on the heavy side but offers more protection than other seats and lasts longer. My daughter now weighs about 16 lbs and there is still plenty of growing room with the straps. She is skinny though being in the 15% for weight and 75% for height. Also, you can always consider the extra weight a workout. I carry her up and down three flights of stairs everyday because we live in a third floor apartment. The seat fits fine also in the car, which is a Pontiac Vibe. I would rather have a seat that is heavy and more protective and work my arms out that have a lighter one.

First off I didn't truly realize how huge this car seat was until I tried to lug it around. I have a very small car and it does fit, we checked for that, but I have to flip the front seat forward to pull it out and sometimes can't pull it out if I can't get the door open all the way because of a car next to me (I've had to pull it out from the other side and even repark before!) My other big complaint is the buckle buckles oddly and almost doesn't want to snap. We've probably used the seat a grand total of 5 times and it was like that from day one- so it's not broken and the models in the store seem to have that awkward clasp. We are actually purchasing a new smaller seat and I wouldn't choose graco because of that clasp if it wasn't for the fact that we want it to fit the graco stroller frame we have already purchased.

this car seat is a little on the heavier side, but it should be since it is supposed to accommodate larger babies. my biggest problem with it is that it does not fit well in shopping carts. if it is positioned correctly on the cart, my baby is laying flat, almost inverted, and her legs are in the air. i can only assume this is because it is bigger in general for the larger weight limit. also, after reading more reviews, i see that the straps do not fit babies up to 35lb, so the entire reason to get this car seat is moot.

This car seat is a good product, but unfortunately, I was only able to use for 1 yr (I made the purchase thinking of 2 yrs). The belts are disappointing. My twin girls are 23 lbs and 31", and I cannot use it anymore. When fall started 2 months ago, and they were 21 lbs, we had to lose the shoulder and waist straps to the maximum, but they were still too tight when wearing coats. We spent all this time putting them in the car seats with no coats, and it is winter! The seat is too expensive if you can use it for less than a year. Graco failed on this particular point, because we should have been able to use it up to 32" height. If you know you are having a big baby, go for another brand.

The pros: it has nice protection up the side of the head, the fabrics are good quality, it's well-constructed. I feel my baby is safe in this.

The cons: The biggest con is that my baby is outgrowing this FAST! She weighs a chunky 16.5 pounds now, and the straps are totally maxed out on the length. If she gains another ounce, she's out. I have NO IDEA how they think a baby could fit in this to 35 pounds!? Plus, I didn't realize this, but if you are a petite female, there's no WAY you could maneuver this when your baby weighs 35 pounds. I'm a thin, 5'4" female, and I can BARELY maneuver this thing in and out of the car anymore. It's really heavy and awkward--getting it in and out of the base is TOUGH. Or, think about lifting it high up and into a shopping cart... I can't really do it safely anymore, which is disappointing. I thought we'd get maybe 6 months of use... not so. Lastly, the buttons/buckles used to snap the harness are really hard to use. Not a deal-breaker, just a pain.

For safety rating, this seems to be among the best, and I'm happy with it. For day-to-day use, it is rather disappointing.

We bought it for our daughter before she was born along with other carseat (graco Snugride 22, Olivia). She was born with weight 6 Lb and 12 oz and this carseat fit her perfectly. When we tryed smaller snugride 22 at home it was too big for her since it didn't have enough padding for newborn and has only 2 height adjustment (so we returned snugride 22 and bought extra base for this carseat). This snugride 35 has 3 height adjustments. I agree that it's heavy and I won't walk with it, but I can transfer it from the house to the car (few feet distance) even my daughter 10 months old now (19 Lbs). She is currently 19 inches tall, if she continues to be at 85% for length we probably still will be able to use this seat for another 6 mo or so and then will buy convertable that will allow us to keep her rear faced untill she is 40-42 inches. I am very happy with this carseat, although not big fan of matching Bermuda stroller (not totally reclined and folds inside out, wearing the fabric, but you can find another matching stroller - gray color). Installation was a lot easier than for sheaper snugride 22.

We've lived with this car seat for 7 months now. We have some complaints, but are satisfied overall. Here's my assessment:

What's Good:
- LATCH/base is easy to install
- Instruction manual is easy to understand for the most part
- Adjusting straps is easy enough, once you get the hang of it.
- GREAT portability - comes in and out of base easily and onto a stroller base well
- We've washed the cover multiple times with no wear/tear
- I truly feel our daughter is safe and comfortable.
- Good adjustibility with the newborn insert. Was a little awkward when she was too big for it but a little small without it, but it's been nice.
- I love the fabric

The bad:
- It's HEAVY. Really heavy. Didn't matter much when she weighed 8 lbs. Now we're at about 20, and it's a chore to heft. That's why the stroller comes in so handy.

- It's WIDE. Won't fit in many booths or the flipped over high chairs. Many restaurants now use slings, though, and those work well.

- It's a space-vampire. Granted, we drive small cars (VW Jetta & Mazda 3), but we lose a lot of leg room up front, and it invades the seat space on either side of the back seat, too.

- It gets hot - we live in Texas, and the summer heat combined with the microfiber fabric can create a small furnace.

- Don't like that you have to use it with the handle down.
