I bought the Chicco car seat and stroller thinking this was one of the best so it had to be great.

The carseat: My daughter seemed to fit in it awkwardly for the first few weeks until we took out the infant cushion (she was only a little over 6 pounds at birth). The cover didn't block the sun at all when it was fully extended so I switched it out with a carseat canopy set (inwhich the carseat cover and carseat handle cover do not work well with this carseat either but that is a different review). The straps are very close together compared to the other carseats we have had (Evenflo and Britax). I HAVE to use the neck protectors or the straps run every time on her neck. The carseat base is very easy to install, but my complaint is that there is only one tightening strap to do both sides. I have to be able to tighten each side seperately so that all three of the booster/carseats can fit in the car by having the seat a little over from the seat belt- which I can't do and it's a pain to make sure everyone is buckled each time we get in the car. I do love the little storage area in the base to keep the info book and other little things. As others have mentioned- it does not fit in the seat area of a shopping cart and has to be put in the basket of the cart which means you can't get anything done or need to carts for groceries.

On to the stroller: It looks nice and easily unfolds with one hand and a foot. That is about as far as that goes. The carseat DOES NOT CLICK into the stroller so if you have to go down a steep hill or over a bump, the carseat with your precious baby bounces or starts to tip a little since it is not secure!! There is only one cup holder (even my umbrella stroller has more!) and the little spot on the top to hold keys does not hold my cellphone let alone the phone and keys. To make the carseat fit you have to put the back of the stroller seat down, which is a pain in the butt to do, and as soon as you fold the stroller up it moves back...so you have to do this EVERYTIME you want to put the carseat in it. The basket is not very big (as compared to graco or evenflo) and for some reason the end of it is tipped down and out so if you have the basket full then some stuff will fall out! It is hard to access the basket with the carseat in and the backrest down. The material is also starting to wear out and it's not even 4 months old yet. I used it for my older two children for about 2 weeks before the baby was born and the material is already starting to fray from that and the carseat moving around while walking. Also- the stroller does not fit in my Mercury Mountaineer SUV if I have my third row seating up- it doesn't fold down small enough- it's too wide even with the handle put down, so I can't bring extra kids with me anywhere if I am brining the baby and need the stroller for anything.

Overall impression: I do not recommend this combination of stroller and carseat if you need to have a secure place to put the carseat and you want to have room for all of your stuff. It needs more cupholders, a way to secure the carseat in the stroller, better neck straps, two lock system straps, more durable material, a bigger basket and the ability to easily access the basket.

Comments about Chicco Cortina Travel System Stroller - Zest:

I did allot of research and read allot of reviews for months in the search for the perfect travel system and this was the one for me. The color scheme is great for my little boy. The material is great quality compared to other products we looked at. However, my son at 3 months has outgrown the car seat!

Stroller Pros: Easily folds and unfolds, turns and maneuvers very easily, comfortable and adjustable handle, my diaper bag clips on perfectly. Car seat easily "clicks" into place and easily removes.

Stroller Cons: You have to fold the seat completely flat to accommodate the car seat, this leaves very little room to fit much in the basket below.

Car Seat Pros: Very easily adjusts, easy install into the car, easily adjustable straps, great head support for my infant, seems to be very comfortable. I love that the bar handle is a straight arch vs. some car seats that have that strange zig-zag hangle. Handle easily goes up and down.

Car Seat Cons: My son was born almost 9lbs, 21" tall! So putting him in the seat for the first time, we had to adjust the straps to the second setting, not leaving much room to grow. Now at 3 months, 15lbs and 24", I have the straps on 3rd setting, which is the highest they will go. We are already looking for a new car seat because he is too tall for this one now. Also, the crotch strap has always been a little tight and is not adjustable, seems like it could be a little uncomfortable.

Overall a great stroller and car seat, I love the brand and it is a great value for the price. I just wish the weight limits had height limits to match! If you are expecting a smaller baby this is a perfect travel system for you.

Comments about Chicco Cortina Travel System Stroller - Zest:

We found this product on clearance, we were just going to but a car seat to go with the stroller we already own, but while looking to put a car seat in law away, my husband found this travel system & loved it. We walked around for a little bit, & found they had it on clearance cheaper than the carseat by itself, so he picked up the carseat, said it was a bit heavy, but he carries it more than I do, & he said it was fine. We love how the stroller is so easy to push, & I love how the seat lays flat. I just wish, like many others, that the canopy on the carseat was a bit longer, & that the seat itself wasn't as heavy, but I will deal with that for the price I paid. It seems to be great, we also bought this one because of the gender neutral quaility.

Comments about Chicco Cortina Travel System Stroller - Zest:

I used this everyday, car seat lasted till son was 6mnths old, then he out grew it. Stroller is easy to use, and I love the fact that the seat can lay all the way back, and a foot rest pops up, so when my son was only 3 months old, I put him in the stroller with out the seat itself, and i could lay him flat, and he could slip out because the foot rest would block him in. It is easy to move around, and fold quickly and easily. A definante must. The only thing I would have liked better, is the car seat itself is slightly heavy compared to some others we tried out. But overall, that was so minor It didnt really matter in the end!

Love this travel system! It's easy to use, durable, and love the look with the lime green!! Very safe car seat from day one and convenient with moving from base to stroller. Only down fall is the canopy for shade could be a bit bigger to better cover baby. I would recommend this travel system

Comments about Chicco Cortina Travel System Stroller - Zest:

I loved this travel system at first but then noticed things as baby got bigger. So the car seat is probably the best :). My baby always looked comfortable and was well supported by it. The stroller is where I encountered all the problems. First of all the stroller was mostly if not all made of plastic so you can imagine how easily breakable it was. The basket broke after using it for 3 months. I also did not like the fact that you could not access the basket while the car seat was in it(shopping was a hassle). Also the padding on the side of the stroller with the chicco insignia kept popping off. I noticed that the store put velcro so that the display would avoid doing that. I bought this travel system before my son was born due to the great reputation that chicco had but it honestly did not work out for me. It was a bummer...also grocery shopping was a hassle since you could not prop car seat on shopping basket. Had to have stroller and basket while shopping for groceries with husband.

What I love: great price, ease of use, infant insert for body and head is better than many others, colors and fabric!

Not so much: The umbrella shade could extend longer to cover baby better...the basket is difficult to use with infant carrier attached...and I wish seat went up to 30lbs...my babe is 3 months and already 18lbs...not much longer to go.
