My three year old has allergies and coughs some times at night. A lot of times I would hear her cough before the monitor would come on. It is only voice activated but doesn't register noise every time. Sometimes I would hear it come on after she had called for me and sometimes it just wouldn't come on. Very frustrating.

I have a love/ hate relationship with this monitor. I love the style of it, but the music is not usable. It plays the same song over and over until you change it and it doesn't sound that great. I love that it has the temperature on it, I use that daily, but I hate that it won't charge unless the unit is turned off. I love that you don't hear the static typical of most audio monitors, but I hate that you can't adjust the sensitivity of the sound. I can hear my baby making noises before it registers on my monitor. Some monitors let you adjust this to more or less sensitive but not this one. I love that I can sit in the nursery and my husband can talk to me through the monitor or I can talk to baby to tell her I am on the way. In the end, I think I would trade it for one that would let me hear all of baby's noises, not just her loudest ones. I find myself second guessing whether the monitor is working and have to keep checking on her anyway. It kind of defeats the purpose of having the monitor.

Excellent baby monitor. All features work very well. Love the fact that it has the talk back button. Goes quiet when there is no noise, but you'll hear any peep that your child makes. I play a lullaby and have the AC going at night (not loud) and that keeps the monitor on all night long. Temperature reading is accurate and very convenient. All in all a very well made baby monitor :) I was very surprised by a lot of the negative reviews that I read. I am so amazingly picky & I love this monitor :)

I am very happy with this monitor. We had a Sony Monitor set when our son was a newborn but didn't use them long because of the static. We recently moved into a new house where our son's room is all the way on the opposite side of the house. Even though he is three now, being he is so far away we wanted to be able to hear him and talk back to him. We tried the monitors we had but the static was so bad! So even with all the mixed reviews on this Motorola Monitor I figured I'd give it a chance knowing my good luck with this brand. I love that there is no static and I can hear him clearly when he needs help at night. The only reason I gave this 4-stars is that the receiver doesn't last long and will go out without any audible warning. So I just keep it plugged in all the time. We are expecting our second baby and plan to buy the camera version of this monitor.

I'm not sure why this product has terrible reviews all over the internet. But, I'm stubborn and insisted on getting my own opinion. I love it! My baby isn't here yet but I hooked them all up and "tested" it with someone in the nursery, and it seemed to pick up noises just fine... I love all the features. My ONLY complaint is that the parent receiver took FOREVER to charge the first time, about 24 hours. But that is obviously just a battery issue and nothing to do with the product. I think this is great!

First one i got seemed to not work at all, the one i got in exchange was even worse. Sound cuts out even in mid sentence, what sound it does pick up is to quite to even hear. This was a huge waste of time and money.Too many problems to list, just trust me and don't buy it!

I bought this yeasterday & the reciever doesn't even work! I could hear my baby for 5 min the it shut off.. I can hit the talk button & I can hear him for 15 seconds then it shuts off again.

This monitor barely picks up any sounds at all. At first I thought it was great because there was no interference.. Then I realized it wasn't picking up ANY sounds my son was making. He is two so I only need to hear if he is crying hard and it wouldn't even pick that up. I returned it. (the temperature feature was nice, though.)

The sound quality that transmits is exceptional, no interference, no white noise, just the sounds your kiddo is making. That being said it only transmits louder volumed sounds from your kid. My daughter was coughing and I heard her first cough and the monitor didn't transmit until her second or third LOUD cough. You don't hear your child moving in their crib much less their breathing unless some other noise kicks the monitor on. This might be good for a slightly older child that you only need to know if they are really awake but not for a baby.
