I started using the tub positioned across the sink about 1 month old. As long as you lock the sides and push the middle lock down there are no leaks. The only time it did leak is if you put weight on any of the lock areas...which you shouldn't be putting your weight on it to begin with. I used the sponge on the counter when bathing before 1 month and in the tub after 1 month. I started using the sling inside the tub about 2 or 3 months. He would slide down sometimes but not enough to complain about. Once he was able to sit up we took out the sling. About 6 mos I moved him to our bath tub without the sling or sponge (supported sitter stage). I loved the whole kit. We still use the cup for rinsing. The tub/sling fit his growing body and the sling cover was easy to take off and throw in the washer. I didn't have any trouble cleaning the tub either. I really don't have any cons about it. The tub, sling, and sponge did their jobs and fit as needed. As a choice I never unlocked the tub to store...just seemed to be a waste of time since I used it daily. I'm not sure why others disliked it so much unless they had a defective product or they were not using it correctly. I would definitely recommend this affordable and cute set (btw mine was the frog set-seems it's been changed to a turtle now).

Didn't realize that this tub has a leaking problem. The first time we used it, my husband and I left it on the bathroom counter full of water for only 10 minutes while we dressed our son in the other room. When we came back to the bathroom to clean up, the counter and floor were COVERED in water!!! This bathtub has leaked every single time we use it. We have resorted to using a huge folded towel underneath it, and are also hurrying through our bath routine with our son in order to make this bathtub tolerable. It has ruined an activity that is supposed to be fun and enjoyable. Our baby loves the little time he has in the water.

We don't want to purchase another infant bathtub of a different brand because of the short time frame our baby would otherwise be using it. We received this tub as a gift, and unfortunately we felt bad about wanting to return it. We should have just bit the bullet and returned it. IT IS HORRIBLE!!!! Be prepared to make a mess if you purchase it! Hopefully you will consider the other customer reviews below. My guess is that there's a manufacturing defect or oversight of some kind. I think this product should be pulled off the shelves. What a disappointment!

Aside from leaking, the features of this bathtub make it very difficult to use with a newborn infant. There is very little structure to the sling. The sponge is a joke. We would have been better off with a more structured sling or a molded tub. I strongly recommend a different brand... anything different than this piece of JUNK!

We used the sling and tub and turtle sponge for 9+ months and it worked great. The sponge eventually became torn and we had a hard time putting the fabric of the sling back on the frame after washing, but it was fine. It made bath time much easier!
I read that others had leakage when using the tub on the countertop, but we never used it that way. Our tub was only used inside our regular bath tub.

I love this tub, we got three different tubs and this one was the best! At first we saw the leaking BUT IF YOU READ THERE is a LOCK in the middle so it doesn't leak!

Yes, this is a LEAKY tub! It works. But, you'll need to place it in your actual bathtub to keep from making a mess. We've been using it for 7 months. Our son likes to splash around a lot now, so for many reasons we place the whole set up in our regular bathtub. Good luck using it. If you've bought this tub... I suggest returning it if you want to use it elsewhere than just inside the regular tub. You would likely be happier with a leak-free design.

When I started using this tub, the water leaked out within minutes of filling it. I realized afterwards (after reading the instructions) that there is a lock in the middle to prevent leaks, but after attempting numerous times - could not get this in the locking position. I have been trying to give my now 5 month old a bath as quick as possible before the water leaks out, but he ends up shivering and miserable (I don't blame him). I am buying a new tub immediately since he will be sitting up in the next few weeks and needs to sit in a warm bath, not on cold hard plastic! Definitely spend your money on a different product, this one is awful.

For everyone who says this tub leaks PRESS THE LOCK BUTTON IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TUB! After you extend the sides, press down on the middle of the inside...it'll click and voila...no leaks. Geez. Not that hard. I love this tub and so does my six month old...he's loved it for months. We are going to upgrade now since he's sitting up more but it was a nice, inexpensive and effective tub to start with!

Got this because of the space saving feature and the removable free standing positioner thinking that it would be good for traveling. It originally 'leaked' so I was frustrated and got the Fisher-Price Precious Planet Whale of a Tub then realized that I had latched the side locks but not the one on the bottom center of the tub (like the sticker said...oops!). Then it didn't leak but since the positioner is free standing it slides and I then have to hold onto baby the entire time to prevent her from sliding. I will be sending this tub to the grandparents for us to use occasionally so we don't have to take the Fisher-Price one, but will only use the Fisher-Price one regularly. Highly recommend the Fisher-Price Whale of a Tub over this tub.

I registered for this tub at the recommendation of the BRU consultant. I did not look at the online reviews. I wish I had! The tub leaks and made a big mess in our bathroom. I had the tub on the bathroom counter and water dripped into the drawers. It was time consuming having to remove the contents of the drawers and dry out everything. After that fiasco I double checked to make sure I had followed the tub instructions; I had. The tub is going back to the store today.

This bathtub leaks - literally, the water just runs out of it while we are bathing the baby. We didn't discover this until over a month of use, because at first we were just sponge bathing DD. When we first decided to add a couple of inches of water as she got a bit bigger, we noticed the flaw.

I have tried to check and see if I'm assembling it wrong, but after repeatedly snapping the tub together and hearing the click sound, the water still runs out. It's very disappointing and I wouldn't recommend this tub to anyone. We registered for it not knowing anything about baby supplies. I wish we would have researched or got a simpler tub. This combination looks very cute, but the most important feature, holding water, doesn't work!
