Joshua Loves to play EVERYday with this train set.
It snapped together so easy I helped put it together and it is staying together and runs perfectly. Easy, easy, easy, easy even for me the GrandMA!! Great Quality, wouldn't expect anything less from Lionel!
Suggestions: Cardboard Scenes could be a plastic, something sturdier and one quick faster speed.

My 3 yr old son recieved this as a xmas present. It looks nice in the box but right off the bat i knew there were going to be problems. It was really difficult for me to get the track together, my son is 3 and he could not get it together which frustrated him; however the track then doesn't stay together. I am not sure what the problem is with that but it's a major pain. The cars come off the track very easily as it's going. The ramp to go up broke because he put some pressure on and with no support the link between the pieces broke. Major disappointment overall for my son cuz he gets frustrated with it, then gives up playing with it.

My 3yr old son loves this train set. The remote is very simple for him to use. I could even see a 2yr old working this train. It was fairly easily to assemble, and we had it together in no time. It is a little bigger than expected but I'm fine with that. And the price is not too bad. The picture that comes with it is a cardboard cut out that I decided not to include when putting the set together because it cheapens the look of the train set. My only problem is that the sounds come from the remote control and not the train itself, but no big deal. Oh, and it's a little noisy (even my son said something) without any volume control, but no louder than to be expected from a child's toy. You can easily tape something over the two little speakers, if you don't mind the look of it. Lastly, I'm not sure if it eats up batteries but I always use rechargeable ones.
