As an avid Transformers action figure collector (since G1) I must say this second version of Prime's Optimus is utterly horrible, as is the second line as a whole. These are almost as bad as Beast Wars, whether compared to Prime's First Editions or not. Definitely embarrassing as a display figure. Then to actually compare these with the First Editions is to put the original live-action film line and Revenge of the Fallen's line in reverse; these new action figures are a major step backwards in detail, kibble, and proportions. The MSRP difference between First Edtion and Second was negligible. And second are smaller!

Cybertron weeps; their Scabbots are embarrassing ambassadors, for they dared to rear their ugly heads here on Earth.

However, these are a bit better than Happy Meal toys, though overpriced and over-hyped. They are no substitue, but perhaps the children will be happy. But, will Hasbro learn from this? Unless their Prime profits say otherwise, no. Will we ever see the First Editions re-released and re-packaged? How angry would a collector be if they spent serious money just for a rare box? The figure itself is the most important to me.

What a mess. My faith in Hasbro and TOMY is frayed.

This RiD Transformers Prime Optimus Prime is a great product. Very beautiful detail all throughout the toy. Definantly for any kid and/or collector like myself. Toys r us can be a bit pricey though. I got it cheaper elsewhere.... but nonetheless fantastic toy don't even consider it... just get it! Easy yet fun transformation thag would suit all kids ages 5 and up. Want more reviews. figure comes with hard plastic sword, so kids and nerds, dont poke your eyes out. very pricey for a voyager though

Robots In Disguise Transformers Prime: Optimus Prime (Powerizer Class) is a nice figure. Good looking in both modes, relatively simple transformation, nice amount of articulation, and fairly accurate to the animation model. This figure is not as complex as the First Edition figure, so younger enthusiasts can enjoy this toy as well. I do not care for the translucent blue forearms or the gun gimmick. The gun would be better if it actually looked like a gun instead of a giant block when you aren't holding it to activate the lighted gimmick. The spring-loaded mechanism recoils it into 'block mode' as soon as it has been released. (This version on Optimus lacks some articulation and detail found in the first edition release. However, it is a nice representation although simplified in general for mass market sales. This is a side note for concerned collectors). Recommended.

Absolutely LOVE this thing. I'm such a huge fan of Transformers: Prime so when I saw the figures, you can only image how excited I was. I had my doubts at first that it was going to be poor quality, but when I laid eyes on this rendition of Optimus, I fell head over heels. The attention to detail and overall execution of the action figure is excellent, and the transformation from robot to vehicle mode is very easy to complete and unlike other action figures I own, he's able to stand by himself as opposed to toppling over a few seconds later. SO much fun to play with, I higly recommend it to other die hard Transformers collectors/fans and children out there. What a great figure! :D

This is by far the best Transformers Prime toy to date. The quality is better in Optimus than any previous Optimus toy in any line the past few years. The joints fit tightly and he does not fall apart when transformed nor do the limbs "fall" when in robot mode. Optimus is much more complicated than he looks. Lots of fun. No negative comments for this one!
