We used the newborn diapers with the snaps down until his cord fell off. We love the gDiapers--never had a blowout and our disponsables always leak with our little one. He was born big (over 8 pounds) and fit the newborn pants for about 3 weeks (over 9 pounds). He is now wearing the smalls and they work very well. We use cloth and disposable inserts during the day, and disposable inserts or double lined cloth over night.
Also, with the disposables there is a lot more cleanup from baby's bottom--with gDiapers the poop sticks to the diaper and we have fewer issues with rash.
However--I still do not use them for extended outings. For long trips we just use disposables because the shells do need to be washed eventually and the snap in liners need to be washed about every 2 wears.

We love the gDiaper system! These diapers are super trim with a great fit. We love not compromising our sweet girls fashion to go cloth- no bulky bottom here!
We use cloth inserts during the day- they are super soft and just absorbent enough to last from one feeding to the next.
You can't beat the disposables for overnight and when on the go (no wet bag toting). The Disposable inserts are amazingly absorbent and hold up for the 8 glorious hours our sweet baby sleeps at night. The flushability of them is wonderful as well- no stinky diapers waiting for next weeks trash!
These diapers are the only way our sensitive skin baby has remained rash free!

I love gDiapers. Some of these were purchased off my registry. I have other cloth diapers and these are fitting my newborn the best! I did wait until her cord fell off and healed before moving into my gdiapers. I have purchased 6 and a set of liners. I change the liners and reuse the outer shells. If she is just wet I let the shells dry and then put in another liner. They wash wonderfully. It does take two washes to get all the poo stains out. I am BF and I hear it washes out easier. I don't rinse just throw them in the pail until wash time. (I do wash the diapers every day). You do need to was at least 6 times before the inserts are highly absorbent! I LOVE the colors and my ability to have them match her outfits!

I was talked out of buying these by a friend who had a bad experience with them (leaks). But when my daughter took forever to grow into the one-size pocket diapers I got instead, I got desperate and a friend lent me her small-sized stash.
I will say that these are far less cute than they look in ads. The velcro wears out very quickly, resulting in a lot of loose diapers and a few surprises when you pull down your baby's pants for a change. They end up looking kind of dingy.
As my friend warned me, leaks were frequent. I wanted these because I liked the idea of being able to re-use the cover, but that rarely if ever happened. They leaked almost every time, even though I religiously changed her every 2 hours, and my daughter is not a heavy wetter. It's just not a very good design. The little pouches don't form a seal to the leg very well, which is why it leaks so often. The gCloth inserts tend to bunch in the front, as well, so every time I change her, it's all soaked in front and bunched up.
On the positive side, my husband still likes these better than the pocket diapers, so they are definitely daddy-proof. He also likes that they are slimmer than most other pocket diapers (he's not a fan of fluffy diaper butt).
I am very glad I did not buy these myself. I've had far better success with other brands.

I am using these diapers on my second daughter and love how easy they are. I had a bunch of cloth diapers but my husband wouldn't use them because they were to hard :( I showed him the video for gdiapers and he said he would try theme. The other day he told me he liked them!! I use only cloth inserts now.

I bought these diapers when my daughter was 2.5 weeks old. I was ordering 1 of different cloth diapers to try. So far these are my favorites. My daughter is very long and slender. I really don't like how bulky some of the others are on her. These are very trim and don't look bad under clothes.

Most of all, I love the option to use gCloth or gRefills. I use the cloth for the most part, but we travel a lot. I didn't want to have to worry about doing diaper laundry at my family's house or vacation, but I hate the idea of going back to pampers for that. So when I need to I throw in a gRefill and off we go. They break down and flush very easily if you follow the instructions, and they won't be in landfills for the next 500 years.

I did have some leaks at first with gCloth, but after watching the videos on the company's website it's all good. They have a very informative and helpful website. Also, because you don't have to wash the entire diaper every time, you have way less laundry.
