Product Description

The Dr. Brown's Double Electric Breast Pump, featuring Simplisse technology, is designed to help minimize tugging and pinching and gently elicit milk expression. The Super-Soft BabyFace Flexible Breastcups are squishy soft and puff in and out gently to conform and move with mom's breast while expressing. This mimics baby's tongue and suckling motions to encourage let-down. Milk collection parts are BPA-Free and dishwasher safe for easy cleaning.
The Double Electric Breast Pump was created on a simple premise: we believe that moms deserve a more comfortable way to express breastmilk than traditional, non-compression pumps with hard plastic cone-shaped breastcups. So, we went straight to the source for inspiration: moms, babies, and the biological interaction during breastfeeding. Through extensive research and testing, the Dr. Brown's pump featuring Simplisse technology provides a milk expression experience unlike any other that closely and comfortably simulates the way baby elicits milk during breastfeeding.

The Dr. Brown's Double Electric Breast Pump includes:

  • Discreet Purse-Like Tote Bag
  • Pump Motor

With my first child i used medula pump, i never was able to successfully pump. I had very paiful and sore nipples, and when i pumped i felt as if too much was being sucked in but with little outcome.

so when i read adverts for this i was sold.

this time around i still had sore nipples, but just from my daughter, not the pump too! this time around i was able to breastfeed till my child was 1 year old. my average pump session was anywere from 5-7 oz, in apx 10 min. sometimes i only get 5-10 min to pump at work.

so the pros would be: its very gentle, works great, love the case, and the costomer service is WONDERFUL, as i did need a part replaced ( from lts of wear and tear), but after that had no problem!

the cons: wish could buy parts in store, wish had more suction when i got to advanced stage to go from 10 min pumpsession to 8 min (but not compromise the gentleness it does now for begining stages)

now if you read instructions, if you start with a different pump, it takes a little bit to get used to. i did pump with a medula at work when i forgot mine, yes it had more suction so it worked quicker, but it didnt produce more milk, this was when my daughter was 8 months old, so i had no problem with soreness. i only saved apx 2-3 min

so to summerize, if you have sensitive nipples, definately buy this!

but if your a pro and want to save 3 min.s then choose another pump.

for me i recommend this pump and wouldnt change it!!!!!!!!

Got this to pump when I returned to work. One of the reasons I chose this pump was because of the wonderful reviews, and how highly everyone spoke of the customer service. I think the look of the pump is very nice, and I loved the bag it came with. I just wish that I would have paid attention to HOW MANY people have needed to contact customer service! This pump seemed to work fine on my left side, but I got absolutely nothing from the right side, air seemed to be leaking out of the right collection cup. Called customer service, they sent me another collection kit, but still got nothing, I ended up returning it. The process to return it was quite bothersome. I had to talk to a LC, who told me there would be a transition period, even though I had been trying to pump every day for three weeks. She gave me a long list of things to do to try to get it to work, and told me that the pump really wasn't meant to get large amounts of milk out. She was very nice, but repeated herself way too much. She called several times and kept me on the phone for over an hour repeating the same 4 things over and over again. I was finally able to get a refund after a month and a half of back and forth calls. and emails. I ended up getting a manual pump, and it's worked 100x better for me, plus I can now open jars with ease :)

Comments about Dr Brown's Simplisse Double Electric Breast Pump:

I got this pump for the great reviews and since i had had a madela pump in the past the tore up my nipples i decided to get this one. It is very gentle if your used to a pump like the madela but i feel like that makes it better you can alternate suction to increase milk flow and it has worked well for me. When i went back to work after being home and pumping in between feeding, i only used one side of the pump. Nothing changed in the pump action, still just as good and i can get out 4 oz or so out of each breast per pumping which only takes about a total of 15 minutes or so. The only thing is that with the less milk i have the harder it is to get out since it is so gentle on the breast. I still love it and will continue to use it until I wean my son off. I have never had to call customer service about anything going wrong on my pump, but i did lose some of the red rubber washers and they were very nice and sent our replacements immediately. I have nothing but good things to say about this pump...

Comments about Dr Brown's Simplisse Double Electric Breast Pump:

I got this pump through insurance which voids their money back guarantee... Now I'm stuck with a worthless pump and no way to pump at work. I've called way too much and have been sent so many parts, but the simple fact is that this pump has a poor design and does not work consistently. I sit for hours taking it apart and putting back together. After many conversations with customer service and supervisors, they say there is nothing they can do since I got it through insurance. It's loud, has too many components and doesnt do what it's intended to do. Don't waste your time with this pump.

Comments about Dr Brown's Simplisse Double Electric Breast Pump:

I chose this pump because I loved all the Dr. Brown products. Worst decision I ever made. Yes it is comfortable, but if it doesn't work, comfort is pointless. The double pump only worked for 2 weeks, and then I could only use one side at a time. (Very inconvenient) There is little to no suction. From day 1, this pump extracted very little milk. I have to take apart all the attachments and put them back together at least 5 times before every session before I get a decent suction. I've called the 800# and they just sent new attachments. Still doesn't work. I am extremely frustrated with this and wish I would've stuck with the medela pump. I seriously hope new moms read this review and do NOT choose this product!!!!

After some research I decided on this product because of the 'gentle suction' that it offered. After a couple months my supply started to slow down after & I became frustrated. I tried all the 'tricks' to try & boost my supply. I decided to try my friends Medela just to see what all the hype was about with this brand. I could not believe the difference! I was pumping almost triple the amount! Do not waste your money on this pump! While the suction is very gentle, it is not strong enough to get out all the milk. My supply was hurt by using this pump & do not recommend this to anyone!

This breast pump was awful, especially after using the medela pump at the hospital. i bought this product because of the great reviews and it broke within the 1st month of use. i am actively breast feeding so i only used it maybe 5 times in the 1st month and the suctions broke. i had to just use as single pump because one side broke first. the last straw was when i was so full i felt like i was going to explode. i set up the pump and nothing came out. i then had to use a manual pump that the hospital gave me and got 4 ounces in 2 minutes. thank god i had that. i am DONE with this pump. I called babies r us and they will not let me return it. PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS PUMP! It is a waste of money!

Comments about Dr Brown's Simplisse Double Electric Breast Pump:

This pump totally delivers on its gentle suction promise. Unfortunately, prepare to sacrifice milk volume. I've had this pump for 5 months, and am continually finding that several days of decent functionality will be followed by a day (or several) of nothing. I will literally be leaking through my shirt, and yet this pump can't squeeze a drop out of me, resulting in the need to hand express at work. Needless to say, the stress of trying to get enough milk with this pump has greatly outweighed any comfort from the gentle suction.

I've spoken to customer service, and yes, they are very nice. But I'd rather have a pump that works instead of needing to get updated parts.

Ultimately, I have no doubt that there is some user error to be factored in here. However, if I can put the pump together the same way and yet continually get varying results, all I'm left with is ongoing frustration. I love the Dr. Brown's bottles, but after using Medela, EvenFlo, and Dr. Brown pumps, I would recommend the Medela.

The biggest positive of this pump: I've gotten several compliments on the bag.

Compared to other pumps I've used in the past(hospital rental, Medela) this pump pales in comparison!!! It doesn't even compare to the portable single battery operated pump that I used to have.
It has HORRIBLE sucking capacity. After becoming frustrated with this one I went out and bought the Medela double pump and I was able to pump TRIPLE the amount!!!
And to top it all off its very loud!

I got this in a giveaway and was so excited to use it, but its noisy and not very effective. It's hard to clean and the flanges are so top heavy that they dump if set down.

I will continue to use my hygeia and if anything happens to it I will use this pump.

It is gentle, but for me it's too gentle.

My baby had to eat through a feeding tube for the first 6 weeks, and I wanted her to have breast milk. To keep my supply going, I needed something strong. I ordered the Doc Brown's double electric through my insurance because the Medela pump was on backorder and the provider said Doc Brown's was good. After all, I thought, their bottles are good. I should've researched it more. The thing never worked. I used the hospital's pump at first, Medela Symphony, worked great, but when our baby made it home and I started work I needed something more portable (and affordable than renting at $60/month). I tried the Doc Brown's. It didn't work at all, had a broken motor. No big deal, called customer service, they shipped a new one immediately with detailed instructions on how to use it. I tried the replacement pump several times and got about 40 mLs after pumping 20-30 minutes each time...that's about a quarter of what I would get with the hospital pump. If you read the manual, it tells you you'll get less than from most pumps at first but to keep trying. I didn't have the time for that, my baby needed her milk. I ended up buying the Medela Freestyle with a pump bra, which, although not as strong as the hospital pump, works much better than the Doc Brown's and is very easy to bring to/from work and multitask with. The Doc Brown's pump was worthless. And loud. If I relied on it, after working so hard, I would have had to give up breast feeding.

I bought this bc I was drying up faster than a pond in the desert. I could rarely get 3oz from my medela. My medela hurt my nipples. I had to choose pump or feed. If I pumped, I couldn't feed bc of how sore my nipples were. I was hesitant at first. The first time. I couldn't feel the suction, it took awhile to get my going. But the instructions said if you have used a different pump, be patient. After the first time, I watched my son feed, and I mimicked his feeding way with tithe controls! It worked amazingly! My nipples aren't sore, it is so nice!!!
