Comments about Trademark Games Lil' Rider Black Stealth Pedal Powered Go-Kart Ride-On:
This "Go-Kart" is way to small for my 5 & 7 year old. I would say it's more meant for a 3-5 year old, if the 5 year old is more on the short side.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Listen to Toys R Us-not Manufacturer
from Woodland, CA
About Me Casual/ Recreational
Manufacturer recommends up to age 7. Listen to Toys R Us as they only recommend to age 5. My son is 7 going on 8 and is probably average height and there is no way for him to pedel this thing without his knees hitting the steering wheel. And, the pedals themselves are tiny plastic which his feet are too big for. However, not a problem for us, since we just unscrewed the entire frame to remove the pedals and interior chain (very easy to do). He can use his legs now to scoot forward and backward (mainly backward) and I can put his feet on the wheelwell and cart him around with a rope (like a cool wagon). It works for him..and is sooo much cheaper than anything labelled "adaptive" for disabled kids.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
