Product Description

Keep your breast milk, Purely Yours. Ameda created the original hospital-grade breast pump more than 65 years ago. In addition to the Purely Yours Ultra breast pump, the Purely Yours pump offers the same features that Ameda is known for: 1. Proven Airlock Protection - means our diaphragm keeps the air from coming in contact with your breast milk while pumping, protecting it from bacteria, mold and viruses. This also means moisture can't enter the tubing, so no need to clean or regularly inspect inside the tubing. 2. CustomFit Flange System - Ameda offers 7 different sizes, this pump includes one size (25mm) with additional sizes available for purchase. 3. CustomControl - Fully independent controls allowing Mom 32 different combinations for suction and speed to maximize milk flow and comfort. Effective for mothers working full time, the Purely Yours pump includes everything needed to pump comfortably and effectively while on the go, all tucked neatly into the attractive tote. Includes pump motor (1 lb) with built-in battery compartment, AC/DC adapter, milk collection system, extra valves, removable Cool 'N Carry Tote with 3 cooler packs and 2 extra storage bottles. Also operates on 6 AA batteries or optional car adapter (not included).

I used this pump with my first 2 kids and plan to use it again. I've had friends comment that it is much quieter than the Medela pump. I'm glad to see that BRU carries it now. I've just had to replace the rubber parts with each kid, but the milk doesn't get in the tubes and I love that you can adjust the speed and suction. I have recommended this pump to anyone I know that is expecting and plans to breastfeed. I went back to work after both my kids and pumped until they turned 1.

I bought this product intending only to use it once or twice a day. Unfortunately my baby boy has latching issues so I have to pump after almost every feeding. My initial opinion of pump was that it was cheap, and I was correct. However I had read many good reviews and did not intend to be using it very much. The pump is a good option if you pump once or twice ta day. However if you intend to pump exclusively or for the majority of feedings this pump is not the one for you. Initially one of the caps did not fit as securely on the shield structure as it should have and I could hear some air escaping when I pumped. After about 1 1/2 months (of which I was only pumping 2-3 times a day) the motor started to make a squeaky sound, (the motor was very loud to begin with) at about 2 months (of which I started to pump 5-6 times a day) suction started to decrease. As of yesterday (3 1/2 months from first use) the suction was basically gone when pumping both breasts. It still works well when pumping one breast at a time. However I do not have the time to sit there and spend 30-40 minutes pumping after each feeding, what mom does? So I had to go out and buy a pricey Medela, but I love it already. I should have spend the extra money in the beginning and bought a quality pump. Overall if you are going to pump infrequently this pump is sufficient. However if you plan to use it on a daily basis and or for multiple years, don't waste your money and invest in a Medela or other pump made for frequent pumping.

Comments about Evenflo 1001211 Ameda Purely Yours Double Electric Breast Pump:

I thought I'd try this product out having used their hospital grade pump while I was in the hospitl with my 1st child who at the time was a preemie. Worked great while he was there. Having gotten this pump I noted it has very poor suction. I have Lansinoh's singture pro breast pump and I'm able to get 10oz of milk in the morning with it where as with the Purely Yours by Ameda I'm lucky to get 4oz with it. The motor stalls if you try to use it at full capacity. Even with all the replacement parts, this pump will not work the way I was expecting. Very dissapointed. Waste of money is this pump.

Comments about Evenflo 1001211 Ameda Purely Yours Double Electric Breast Pump:

I only use this pump once a day and it's useless. I have better luck using the manual pump they sent home with me from the hospital. I am in my 10th month of nursing and pumping and completely regret not speeding the money on a better product in the beginning. I cringe when I think about working moms trying to use this piece of junk in the workplace!
    Specific problems with this pump:
1.) Does not maintain suction - this is because the diaphragm doesn't relax fully when in use. I have used brand new diaphragms that were hand washed and not sterilized per my conversations with customer service…same result. It's a design flaw. New diaphragms, old diaphragms, new valves, old valves. It doesn't matter. All give the same poor suction.
2.) Eats parts like candy. Plan on replacing your valves and diaphragms frequently especially if you are pumping frequently.
On the positive side, this pump is easy clean and customer service at Ameda is excellent. My advice: if you're going to pump, invest in a better one than this…watch for sales or trade in your insurance provided pump at BRU for one of the Medelas. It's worth it. Being a new mom is already stressful enough. You want your breastfeeding experience to be a good one, and a bad breast pump can ruin that.

Comments about Evenflo 1001211 Ameda Purely Yours Double Electric Breast Pump:

I received this pump for free from my insurance company. The first month it worked ok. I would, on average, pump about 3 ounces in a 40 minute pumping session. I'm a first time mom and thought that I was doing alright; however, by the beginning of the third month I would get maybe 1 oz in nearly 40 minutes. I decided then to go buy the medela pump in style advanced since it gets great reviews and boy are they correct. I found that I can get nearly 8 oz in 15 minutes using the Medala. In general, if you only need to occasionally pump I would say the Ameda is alright then, but if you are a full time working momma like me and need to pump quickly and want the best end result, save your money and buy the Medela PIS.

I had trouble getting my baby to latch & we decided to pump and feed via bottle. Also had flow issues once we got things going. I received this pump from my insurance company after we rented a Medela Symphony to cover the delivery time lapse. Ameda pump stopped expressing milk about 10 minutes into pumping session (normally pump for about 30-40 minutes). Ended up continuing to rent the Medela pump to keep up the pace.

Comments about Evenflo 1001211 Ameda Purely Yours Double Electric Breast Pump:

I'm a full time mom and exclusively pump and have been doing so for almost 3 months. In this 3 month time I've already needed to replace this pump due to decrease in suction that amounted to pump failure (determined after 2nd call to customer support 1 month after 1st call). If you use this pump a lot and in order to maintain good milk supply to feed your baby well with breast milk, you'll need to keep track of milk collection quantity with time it takes to collect, the sound of your machine as well as how well the diaphragms are moving. That way you can be proactive at the slightest bit of a inconsistency and determine the issue before it has any huge mental and physical impact(pumping is so mentally and physically involved so you do not want to upset this balance, just thinking about this right now is delaying my milk let down as I pump LOL). Then you'll need to problem shoot all of the possible causes of your pump inconsistencies; thoroughly checking the caps, diaphragms, white or clear valves, tube adapter, speed setting, suction setting, power cord, bottle connection and so on. All of this problem shooting due to the various parts and poor functional design of them gets a bit tiring especially when you only have a small window to pump while baby is taking a quick nap or play session! There's more though, if you've checked all those things and you're still having an issue and your machine is sounding even the slightest bit different then it's most likely pump failure and definitely call product support, you might even have to call 2 or 3 times to get them to replace your pump. With all that being said, this pump is ridiculous and has cost me a lot of time and sanity but my insurance provided it free of cost and I have no experience with other pumps. Thankfully customer support is awesome!

The only thing I like about the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump is that it is easy to clean. I use this pump 2-3 times a day. The first time my son wakes my breasts are very full so I feed and pump. Even with them super full it takes an hour to pump 4-6 ounces. I only pump one breast at a time and I constantly have to remove the cap to restore suction. I don't see how you could pump both breasts with such poor suction on just one breast. I get more milk in less time with my manual pump
