Bike has been great so far. We ordered online after seeing one at Toys R Us. Instructions for assembly were not correct and I had to figure out a few things. Therefore, if you are not handy, purchase from store, or pay the $10 for their assembly. This was purchased for my 5 1/2 yr. old son who just outgrew his 14" bike. He hopped right on it without the training wheels and started riding immediately. Size looks like it will last a while. He is in top percentile for height and seat is mostly down so he'll have room to grow with it, probably two years.

After reading many reviews, I decided on this bike for my 5 year old grandson and feel I made a good choice. I picked the bike up at the store still in the box and assembled it myself. All the parts were there and none damaged. It went together fairly easily with only minor adjustments needed to the brakes. It seems very well made and was actually heavier than expected. My grandson loves it and I believe it will hold up well under his rough use. I have owned other Schwinn bikes and have always been pleased with the quality.

I got this for my 6 year old. He didn't want anything babyish. The design and colors are great all parts in box and easy to put together

I am a little disappointed with this bike we got for our son for his 6th b-day. My daughter has a Schwinn bike and it's been great for a few years, were getting ready to get her a new one for her b-day this month and that's just because she's grown out of the other one. I had this bike shipped to use since it was on sale and the store in Clarksville, IN would not honor the online sale price in store. Really??? That's bad service there! I will remember that next time, especially with Christmas season when we spend ALOT of money on our children.
Anyways...the box the bike was shipped in was torn in different places and than two of the reflectors was not in the box which Schwinn mailed out right away. My husband put this together and it was hard for him, especially when it came to the training wheels. The training wheels are still not on good and the tread keeps coming off the wheel. Now this week the front brake is messed up and husband can't fix it. I'm returning this bike tomorrow at the store. I didn't even look at other brands because Schwinn is suppose to be the best. I expected a much better bike and much better service from Toys R Us.

I choose the Burnout for my Grandson's 5th birthday. I did not purchase it until after much study. The bike was shipped on time and was packaged in a professional manner.
It was easy to assemble and is very sturdy. I plan for him to get many good years with it.

This is the best bike. My son was way too big for his 12" but not quite big enough for an 18". All of the other 16" bikes I found were BMX type bikes and the seat was too low, sat back too far or were too long and hard to control. This bike is perfect. The seat sits just right and it even has the riding pegs on the back wheel like a BMX bike. I also love that is has the hand brakes as well as the coaster brakes so he can get used to using those. The color is very vibrant and pretty too. My son loves it and wants to ride it all the time.

We got this bike preassembled from the store for my son's 4th birthday. He's a tall four and it fits him just right! Hopefully he'll be able to ride it for a few more years. He actually picked it out himself during a prebirthday mommy-date. I'm glad he did- I love that it's simple and a bit vintagy, not covered in wild stickers. All of our other bikes/trikes are vintage-looking Schwinns as well and they are all solid, still look new after a few years of wear, and we always get complements on how nice looking they are! We did have to order a second bike online that my husband could put together himself. The bike was having some troubles (One of the training wheel tires was getting caught, and we had to disable the handbreak b/c it was rubbing against the wheel and slowing my son down.) and we couldn't tell if it was because of the bike or how it was put together. I think we can now say, both. The new bike doesn't have either of the old bike's problems, but the fork for the front tire was so tight that it took both of us, some ingenuity, and half an hour of sweating, to pull the fork apart enough to get the tire on. We did not want to have to order a third bike to get it right! It's been a few weeks now and the bike is great! It's his pride and joy and he rides it everyday! And TRU was great about the return of the first bike.

Very cute bike! We bought it for our 4 year old daughter- we wanted something not too girly (but not too boy either) so we could use it for our son later on. The bike is pretty heavy for it's size- not sure if that is a good or bad thing for a kid's bike. It also was delivered with a broken hand brake mechanism. Luckily we were able to have a friend replace it quickly so our daughter could have it in time for her birthday.
