My 2 year old son got this for his birthday last week. He unwrapped it. We took it out of the box. He went into the yard to weedeat just like dad. The next thing I know the trimmer head that has a little motor in it to blow around the fake grass quit working. Next the shaft had a screw come out and came totally apart. I rounded up a screw and put it back together. About ten minutes later the lights that light up quit working and the speaker died. so it was a piece of junk. im an electrician, so i took it apart and the wires are so thin that it was like soldering thread that you sew with. It had six wires broken in different places!!!! PURE JUNK. So i spent about 2 hours getting this trimmer back to new condition. Put it back together, hand it to my son, and he trims the yard for about 20 minutes until it stops working again. I took it apart and another wire had broken. I walked it right over to the trash can.,and now the trash man has it. DON'T BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK ! ! !

My son has had the weedtrimmer for only for 2 1/2 mos. (rarely used) and the lower extension portion of the weedtrimmer never worked properly. Now it has fallen apart with wires exposed. This item is not 4 & under friendly and I wouldn't recommend it to any parent ESPECIALLY at the cost of almost $30.00. Very disappointed!

ORDER PLACED OVER A WEEK AGO, PAYMENT HAS BEEN TAKEN OFF MY CREDIT CARD, WHEN I TRY AND LOG IN TO THE SITE VIA MY CREDIT CARD OR EMAIL IT SAYS IM NOT REGISTERED, CANT TRACK IT, ITS NO WHERE TO BE SEEN, I RING THE 1800 NUMBER AND GET A MESSAGE SERVICE. I WORK IN RETAIL MANAGEMENT AND THIS IS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, NOT TO MENTION THE MAIN REASON MY POOR LITTLE 3 YEAR OLD BOY WILL NOT HAVE A TOY TOMORROW AS EXPECTED!!!!!! My 2 year old received this for his birthday about 3 weeks ago and it was his favorite gift from the party. We did need to put new batteries in it, but otherwise everything works fine. It does seem to be cheaply made, but he runs around with it inside and it has held up nicely.

My four year old son received this three days ago, and it is completly destroyed. The head with the grass clippings broke off and the telescoping kneck snapped all at the same time. This was a Christmas present that he was so excited about, and now it is in pieces - so sad for him! The concept of a toy weed eater is great, but these materials are very poor quality. My oldest son received a toy weed eater about 8 years ago. It lasted for many years. All three of my sons enjoyed it. It finally wore out two years ago. It is so sad to see how cheap and poorly made the new models are, all to save a buck. (Even though they now charge twice as much!) They should definitely go back to using higher quality materials. A toy should last longer than three days!

like most of the other reviews for this item my sons broke too and with in hours we returned it and and got a second which also broke. This is very disappointing considering the other home depot toys my son has work great and cost a lot less that the weed trimmer.

I see that my disappointments with this product were not wholly conveyed re my previous posting, scroll down. But, nana of 2 presents the same concerns that I had upon testing the first, and then, the replacement weed trimmer. For the number of little balls in the head of the unit,.. they spun very half-heartedly, if at all. I thought it may be due to weak/old batteries, but the result was the same with new batteries. I feel like I'm caught-up in mommy's (my daughter's) excitement with little guy's anticipation of receiving THE ULIMATE Gift from Grampy for Christmas, and the lurking disappointment if I go there.

My little 4 y/o grandson is SOOOooo excited over this weed trimmer. I was SOOOooo disappointed when it arrived. The packaging was crushed like an accordion. The trimmer head fell off upon removal from the box for a look-over. Upon further review, I felt like I just purchased a carnival trinket toy for a lot more $$ than it's worth. The replacement weed trimmer faired even worse. The packaging was accordioned, as well. The head was barely attached to the shaft and the motor would, or would not, operate when extending or shortening the shaft. It's not kid-tested. Nor did they consider the disappointment that the little tykes will experience within the 1st or 2nd day of play when it comes apart or fails to operate.
