These cups truly don't leak- but with that said, it is difficult to get much through the straw at all.. My daughter LOVES cups with straws but always resorts to my water bottle because it is too much effort to use this cup. We really wanted to like them but they simply done work for us.

I really do not 'get' why all the negative reviews about these cups! These cups are the best, most leak-proof cups out there. My (now) 15 month old has been using them for 6 months with no issues in suction.

I compared a dozen different sippy cups and these are the only ones that didn't leak, AND they are insulated too, so they don't even SWEAT! TERRIFIC cups!

*You DO have to learn how to put them together. You MUST snap the hard white plastic fitting to the valve before you pull the straw tight, and you MUST make sure they are seated properly to the lid. But, once you learn how, you can take the thing apart completely and back together fairly quickly.

*cleaning can be a pain. I take them apart and use a pipe cleaner when I need to. Otherwise the dishwasher.

*My daughter dropped one down the basement stairs and the impact damaged the lid, so it leaked. I could see the plastic 'feet' (where the white plastic thing and the valve inserts, there are little legs that grip the valve and the white plastic thing) had stress on them and they were white where they were bent back. This is the ONLY time I had an issue with leaking, other than not properly put together.

I LOVE THESE CUPS. If you don't, try following the instructions!!!

I bought these for my toddler who loves and uses straw sippy cups. The parts are difficult to put together, by that I mean attaching the straw to the piece that attaches to the lid. The white part that attaches to the lid often came loose or undone and would cause the contents of the cup to spill, if not gush out. If the straw did stay where it was supposed to stay the suction created via the straw would continue to siphon up through the straw creating a mess as well. The bulbous bottom makes it difficult to use in cup holders in the car, too. I wouldn't recomend this to anyone. I threw mine away.

The cup is difficult to assemble, and I follow the instructions exactly. I can assemble it, but then if my daughter drops it on a hard surface the straw comes disconnected and she screams because nothing comes out. Then I have to open it and reassemble while she's screaming. It doesn't leak too badly, but does leak if left on its side. It's very big, and won't fit many cup holders, definitely not the one on my jogging stroller which is frustrating. I would not purchase it again. I used the playtex straw cups for my older daughter and will buy those again next even though they leaked worse. I show family members and babysitters how to assemble the Tommee Tippee cup and when I get home they all say they just gave up and gave her another cup. So frustrating.

Great cup for learning to use a straw. It has a good stopper to prevent leaks if put together properly. It is difficult to reassemble after washing...the way the straw has to go through the lid and the flip cap. It also doesn't fit the cup holder in the stroller. Use only for water so I don't have to completely take apart.

This cup did not fit in the cup holder on my child's high chair or stroller. Because it didn't fit in the stroller cup holder, I had to put the cup in the basket underneath, where it then leaked a lot of milk (probably because it wasn't upright, but it wasn't upright because it didn't fit in the holder). Also, my 16-month-old chewed through the staw in three uses. So we're going back to the Munchkin brand cups that fit in cup holders, leak only minimally, and have durable straws!

I have tried a lot of cups over the years. All of my kids have preferred the straw cups, unfortunately they always leak. Most straw cups act like a vacuum, so when the lid is open, milk pours out of it and makes a huge mess. My daughter can still get this one to leak, but she has to try and the mess is minimal. The spout is a little time consuming to put together, but if you read the instructions, it's not bad. Other customers have complained that their child can't get anything to come out. They probably don't have the valve together correctly (you have to push the little rubbery piece through the hole in the white plastic piece). My 11 month old has no problems with it. Overall, it's a good cup if your child prefers the straw.
