My one year old grand-daughter has this cup, she will not use it because it does not have a spout or straw, she isn't used to drinking out of a cup that much, so I think the age on this product should be move up.

I bought this cup because I was looking for something "more advanced" for my (at the time) 14 month old. I thought the design was great and so different from anything else I'd seen, so we gave it a shot. The first time we used it my toddler dropped it and the entire contents of the cup poured out everywhere in a matter of seconds. We have tried it numerous other times over the past two months since we bought it and every single time my daughter drops it or throws it, as toddlers do, it leaks everywhere. I allow my toddler to have a cup of water all over the house because I don't want to limit her fluid intake to meal times only, and this cup just won't work for us. I followed the directions that come with the cup for assembly, so I know I'm not doing that wrong, but it still leaks. I've tried many different sippy cups over the last year and this is by far the worst. I do really like the Tommee Tippee Explora Drinking Cup if you are looking for something with a lip instead of a spout.

Let me first say that I only write reviews of products that I absolutely love! That being said, this is one of them! I have and am still breastfeeding my 8 month old. When starting solids, I know that she should be getting more water due to the weaning process and I purchased sippy cups with rubber nipples on them thinking those would be the best for her. She just played with them and did not know what to do or how to even begin sucking really hard, mind you, to get the liquid out. I was thinking that it will just take her time but after two months and she still hasn't mastered it I thought that there has to be a better product out there. And voila, I found this AMAZING cup! Even though I just purchased it yesterday, she has already figured out how to use it and that it is almost like a regular cup that adults drink out of, but just with limited flow of liquids. It is so easy for the water to come out with just slight pressure on the top of the cup by her nose when her mouth is on the edge. I know that it can be difficult for breastfed babies to transition to a modern sippy cup with all the valves which require so much suction, don't worry there are now products out there to make it easier for these babies and less frustrating for them and moms. I have read that people said it is not spill proof, but we tested it last night and if all the water is out of the top portion, then yes it is spill proof. There is a cap that can be put on the top to make it easier to travel with, which I am thrilled about. Also I will never let my child/children walk around the house with a cup all day because they need to learn that they eat and drink in the kitchen and/or at the kitchen table. So the only spilling I have to worry about is from the table to the floor. I hope this is helpful for anyone considering this product! I would recommend this cup and would not hesitate purchasing it, if I were you, if your child cannot grasp the concept of these high-suction-needed-with-too-many-parts sippy cups!
By the way, this cup is more of a salmon-y reddish-pink color and not so much pink. I try to stay color neutral as I don't want my boy, if I have one, to be using all pink stuff and I don't want to spend double the money to get more when a boy may arrive.
