Looking forward to this for a long time. I enjoyed the ealier versions on PS2 and always hoped for an update for the next gen systems. EA doesn't disappoint. Graphics are amazing, game play is very intuitive. In this version of the game you are dropped by helicopter into your starting position for races or solo runs, and as you run the course the helo pilot gives tips, encouragement, or critiques you if you screw up or fall behind. Unfortunately it gets repetitive and its not as entertaining as in previous versions. Similarly, there used to be more banter from the other characters you're racing down the mountain, now its not as prevalent as it used to be.

I'm still very early in the game and I know there are add-ons to deal with it, but when you run tracks with tunnels be careful about going into them. The pilot actually warns you, probably because you don't have the proper equipment, but in many caes there is no light at all and you won't be able to see where you're going. I've managed to follow the yellow train left by other boarders but its slow going and there are obstacles in the tunnels so you can and will crash.

Overall well worth getting if you're a fan of the series. It definitely makes up for some of the more annoying traits of the later entries in the PS2/Xbox days and I'm looking forward to unlocking more of the game.

Great game. I suggest anyone who even remotely likes video games, pick this up. it provides HOURS of enjoyment. You keep trying to get better. You wont regret buying this game. You can even add your own songs that the game remixes for you!

Game was meant to be released 2/28 but was told by Toys R Us that they had a different release date of 3/2/12. Come that day, the game was marked as backordered and now have no idea when I might actually get my preordered game.
