I went back and forth on what type of baby monitor I wanted. I knew I wanted a video monitor especially after I had my son and he fusses a bit with gas/ pooping in his sleep and I would wake up to see if I could catch him before he woke up crying realizing he just had gas/ to poop. I was going to get a video monitor with the movement pad but when I asked one of the sales people at the store which of the 2 were better that they sold she went online to read the reviews for me. She said they were rated about the same but if my son didn't have any breathing or other issues and wasn't born early that the movement pad wasn't necessary to have and to save my money and get a different one. So I went home, glad she told me that, and decided to research other monitors. I found this one and kept going back and forth if I should spend the money and if I should get the smaller screen (2.8 inches) and one or two cameras. I finally gave in and got the 3.5 inches and two cameras. I spent the same amount of money as I was going to on the movement/ video sensor monitor so I figured it would be worth it.

I made sure to get the product replacement plan after reading the night vision went out on a lot of people's. ($35 for 15 months) I got the product home and set it up (VERY easy installation!) and I love it! My fiance wanted to just get cameras that would hook up to the tv, computer, phone, etc. (like computer cameras) but I wanted a monitor that I could talk back to the baby, see him at night, and hear him. I got the 2 cameras figuring when we expand our family we can have a camera for each child since it can be expanded up to 4 cameras. (each additional is about $100 which is worth it to see each child on one piece of equipment I think). When my fiance got home after I set it up and charged the parent device (The manual says it takes 16 hours to fully charge) I showed him how to use it and he fell in love with it and kept playing with it!

We are definitely pleased with our purchase! Worth the money and I think the picture quality is pretty great considering, especially in night vision. In night vision it is all black, white, and grey colors. It is so bright of a picture it looks like a light must be on in the room even when it is pitch dark! We also love that it has the pan/ tilt/ rotate option so if our son moves a little bit we can make sure we can see him. (We put one camera at the head of the crib to the left and the other at the foot of the crib to the right so we can see him from either side. I also loves that it plays 5 different lullabies that you can play individually or it will rotate through all of them. If you turn off the parent monitor they will still play so if you dont't want them playing you have to turn it off that way. I've only had this monitor for 2 days but am very glad we purchased it! My son is 7 weeks old and already over 13 pounds (he was 8 lbs 10 ounces at birth) so he won't be able to fit his bassinet in his playard soon and will have to sleep in his crib all the time instead.

There are a few bad things about this product like that the battery life isn't very long, but you are able to keep it on while it is plugged in and charging (nice to have hands free during the day for naps and keep it plugged in at night when you are sleeping). I also wish that the color during the day was a little bit sharper/ brighter and the buttons were backlit because you can't really see them at night (especially the arrows). It would be nice if it was touch screen. Also be careful if you bring the parent unit close to the cameras it makes an aweful high pitched noise! None of these are deal breakers, just things that would make it better when they eventally make the next model.

I purchased the Motorola Baby Monitor from Babies R Us in February 2012 right after it came out in the stores. We had been looking at it for a while, and were excited it came with two monitors as we just had our second child and needed both right away. We love the different features of the monitor: it has good night vision and like that we can talk to the kids through it. The sound works well, and it gave us a clear picture of both children.
We did, however, have a couple problems with the monitor- we lost reception in one of the cameras several times for no apparent reason (should not have lost signal at distance separating monitor and camera). We also noticed a slight decrease in one of the cameras clarity in the night vision. The first episode of losing reception was before the 90 day return policy issued by Babies R Us. We contacted Motorola and were told we had a year and not to worry; just call if it happened again. After several more times, we called about replacement and were told we would be responsible for shipping (and having it tracked/insured. It was 10 days after the three months, and Babies R Us said we were too late and they would offer absolutely no help. We ended up having to pay 15.00 shipping to get an exchanged camera from the warranty company Motorola uses, and now we are losing sound in a camera again. We started losing sound sporadically in the replacement after only two months. Apparently Motorola has changed their return policy so they should pay shipping of defective unit, but I am having a very difficult time getting them to send me return shipping slip over email; something that seems like it should be an easy task.
We had a friend have problems with a monitor purchased from Buy Buy Baby, and had no problems with the company working with them/replacing monitor with another one even after a period of time. Moral of this story: I WILL NEVER BUY SOMETHING FROM BABIES R US IF I CAN POSSIBLY BUY IT FROM BUY BUY BABY- customer service and store employees are 10x better and much nicer. The Motorola Monitor is very nice; not sure if we have just had bad luck or if this is commonplace, but I will give them an A for features; a D-F for customer service.

Motorola customer service for baby monitors is terrible. They really should focus on mobiles and don´t sell baby monitors anymore. I´ve bought in a travel to US and, when I got back to my home and tried to use: What a surprise! It simply does not turn on. And there is almost no support for that equipment. I am really disappointed.Here is my advice: Do not leave the store before test the equipment!

Bought this product while I was still pregnant. my son is now 5 months and ready to sleep in his room. Decided to set up the monitor but came to find out the parent unit monitors speaker was not working. Video worked great but no sound, couldn't hear my son at all. Other then that, this would of got a 5 star

When I got the product, the parent unit wouldn't hold a charge. So I called Motorola and they immediately sent out a new battery after I emailed the receipt. So A+ for service.

The product is awesome. I'm coming off of a Mobi 1-camera system that has lasted for 3 years and is starting to die. Now with a new baby and a toddler in a bed, I thought this would be a good next step.

The camera is clear, the ability to pan/zoom is great. It really needs to be on a solid surface though. I used to balance my Mobi camera on the side of the crib but this one needs a shelf. I don't use the lullaby option. I've played with the microphone option as a game with my toddler. And, there was no interference when I had my Mobi running at the same time as the Motorola.

I give it 4 versus 5 stars because I wish there was a split screen option to see both cameras at once OR have a quick button option to switch cameras. You have to go through a few menus to do that. Not a deal breaker, but these options could enhance the user experience.

This is my second baby monitor because our first one stopped working. I kept reading great reviews of this Motorola monitor. This one is way better than any of them that I have used or seen. It's got so many options too. The only remotely negative thing I can say is that it doesn't have a lot of battery Power to it. So, we have to make sure it is fully charged before nap time if we want to go cordless. It's worth the money!! Much quieter than others, without any of the static reception too.

Worked for a while but less than a year after buying it the power button stopped working and the battery dies after a couple of hours. Motorola is a horrible product stay away.

This Product is great and easy to use.... It comes all set up just plug it in and it's ready to go.... I bought summer infant cameras as well and immediately these cameras were a lot better. The only downfall is the battery life ... It doesn't last as long as I would like. But would def recommend this product.

We purchased this product so we could have one parent unit with multiple cameras. The features all seem to work fine, but I can't imagine this is the best product out there for the money. The sound and picture quality are both disappointing to me. (Both were better on our 2010 model Summer Best View monitor.) At night I keep the sound turned way down so the static doesn't keep me up, but then it's hard to hear the kids. The zoom feature is not very helpful- it just allows a switch to a grainy close-up shot, but you can't gradually zoom in and out or keep much picture quality (which was just okay to begin with).

I've only had this for a few weeks, but I love it. The picture is so clear, even in the middle of night. I only had a sound monitor previously and now wonder why I waited so long to upgrade to the video monitor. I have a 21 month old who is getting ready to climb out of his crib, and also have a 4 month old. This monitor gives me such peace of mind. I highly recommend this monitor.

I wish I could say I loved this product. It does have some wonderful features. We purchased our first one and it lasted a month before it stopped working and we had to go through the hassle of returning it. Now, we have had the second one for about a year and the sound has stopped. Pretty sure it is out of warranty. Very frustrating!
