One of the highlights of the Power Rangers series is the Zords, and for both kids and collectors alike, they never fail to impress. After all, who wouldn't be impressed by a line of transforming toys that can combine into a colossal robot? While Samurai's line of deluxe zords is no exception, the biggest problem with this series is how spread out they are, as completing the entire set would require one to seek out eight individual items. Thankfully, Toys R' Us offers an amazing solution.

Combining several of them together into a single package was a brilliant idea. With this set, you get the Samurai Megazord, the Clawzord, the Bull Megazord, and four of the individual zords (Octozord, Swordfish, Beetle, Tiger). The only one that is not included is the Sharkzord, but the entire Samurai Gigazord can be fully constructed without that piece. The plastic Ranger figures that typically come with the four individual zords are not included, but considering what you are getting, they will not be missed.

For kids, getting the Gigazord set in this one box set is a dream come true. It's show-accurate (to an extent), its parts can be swapped with those of other Megazords from 2010 onward, and the sheer scale of the figures are astonishing, especially when the Gigazord is fully constructed. However, parents may need to help their kids figure out how to piece together certain combinations, as the long instruction sheets are not fun to go over.

Adult collectors will likely compare this to its Japanese equivalent: Samurai Ha-oh. In doing so, one will find that some parts have been hollowed out, joints are stiffer, certain gimmicks (emblem modes, electronics, discs) were removed, and several of the zords have been significantly scaled down. Despite these unfavorable changes, they are still very sturdy, good quality toys that still look amazing when put together.

The only downside to the Gigazord is that its show-accuracy is hampered by the Ape Foldingzord, as certain configurations require that the ape fold into its missing emblem mode. In such cases, the ape is lefting as an arm dangling off the side of the Megazord. For parents, there is also the concern of small parts; certain parts are definitely small enough to pose a choking hazard.

Overall,the Gigazord is a well-designed toy that makes for a monumental birthday or Christmas gift. Kids will enjoy putting it together, while collectors will love its imposing size and the imposing image that it represents: a samurai lord standing proudly on his throne.

The Toys"R"Us Exclusive Samurai Gigazord Set is Fantastic.

In this set, you get all of the contents Neccassary to build the Samurai Gigazord.
1. DX Samurai Megazord ( Lion, Dragon, Turtle, Bear, Ape, Sword )
2. DX Claw Battle Zord ( Lobster )
3. DX Bull Megazord ( Bull with the Cart )
4. Bettle zord
5. Swordfish zord
6. Tiger zord
7. Octo Zord

With in this set alone, there are Numuraious Combination that a person or child can create with thses zords that have been officially seen in the Power Rangers Samurai TV Show. Also, with the "Zord Builder" peg and socket system that are all throughout the inluded toys, a child can create different megazord combinations to the extend of his or her own imagination.

Also, since these are all the same zords that recieved individual releases, all of the Action Features and/or Multiple modes are still present for even more playability.

The only things you do not get in this set as opposed to buying all the zords individually are the 4 inch Ranger figurines that came with the auxillary zords originally, BUT YOU DO NOT NEED THEM! They were very non detailed, non articulate, forgetable figures to begin with and they are not necassary for any megazord combination.

Even if a person have previously purchased some of the zords and megazords already, this set is still a good deal becuase collectors can display multiple combinations at once, and kids can have fun connect all the zords they already own and what they recieved in the set together in crazy ways thanks to the zord builder peg and socket system.

The Price that ToysRus is currently charging for it is great because it saves you a reasonable amount of money when as opposed to buying them individually.

All in All, this set would make an EXCELLENT Birthday gift, Holiday Gift, or general gift to any fan of Power Ranger Samurai ( child, teen, or adult ).
