The kit took 16 weeks from time ordered to get to the store. Once there I never recieved a call regardarding its status. I called frequently and was finally told that yes its been here a few days now. Where was the call? Once home, the color did't match. Babies r us decided to put their sticker on the box saying it was a Heritage cherry conversion kit which the box and product inside said it was a Royale conversion kit. I'm assuming people just don't care anymore about doing their jobs correctly. I took it back to the store where I ordered it from to which they called a few other stores to finally find one conversion kit hours away. Just recieved it through fed ex and its the correct conversion kit but its a well used (special order to someone else) kit with scratches, dents and missing pieces. The color still doesnt match the crib and the slats are too small. Its now been 17 weeks. Called their corporate office and now have to wait another week to see what they plan on doing about this. The crib is beautiful but not recommending turning it into a bed. Way to much complication involved with Babies r us. Very unhappy.

Does the job but not worth the money

In terms of functionality, the kit does the job in that it turns the crib into a full size bed frame. As in the other critique, my side beams did not match the finish of the crib despite them both being a "cherry" finish. The cross slats are just a bit short and barely screw into the supports on either side. Also, unlike the "how-to" installtion video on the internet, the set only includes 4 slats instead of 5 and they are mutch narrower than the video portrays, and there are no pre-drilled holes in the support beams. These are minor annoyances of course...the color difference is the biggest issue, especilly at the obnoxious price you pay for this kit...which is a Babies R Us exclusive so they can charge whatever they want...and they certainly do! I recommend only becuse there are really no other options.

I was a little disappointed with the conversion kit. The cherry colored wood did not match the color of the crib that we bought although both said cherry. Also, the wooden slats were not all the right size. I had to drill some extra holes to make it fit. there should be more quality control with these products. Overall, its served its purpose.
