The Mattel princess dolls are never that good quality. This applies for their Merida dolls as well. This doll feels and looks cheap.

The Mattel princess dolls are never that good quality. This applies for their Merida dolls as well. This doll feels and looks cheap.

The facial features do not resemble the actual doll at all. The legs are the hard, hollow plastic Mattel uses for their cheaper Barbies and princess dolls.

The hair is very pretty after a bit of brushing and messing the hair up a little.

Overall, I would not recommend this doll to anyone except young children. If you can find them, the Disney made dolls are much better (the features resemble the character, legs and arms are posable and clothes are an excellent replication of the actual character's)

                            This doll is absolutely beautiful, with gorgeous red curls. However, i was very disappointed that she has hard plastic legs that do not bend at the knee. This is often see in some of the cheaply made dolls, and not something i would expect from the price of this one. My daughter loves the doll, but is very disappointed that she can not sit or ride on her barbie horse.

                            Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

                            Went to Toys r Us to buy this latest character for my daughters Disney princess/heroine collection. I like the looks of the female Disney dolls that Mattel manufactures much better than the alternatives out there. Merida doll is cute. The Dolls hair is not actually as neatly curled and long as shown in the product photo and I am extremely disappointed that the doll legs are hard and do not bend.
