I purchased this with leftover gift cards from our registry. I was back and forth on the $ and if it was necessary but we couldn't be more pleased with it. I love being able to see Ryan at all times even in our small house. Just being able to take a peek while I'm doing things around the house or in the middle of the night. It was especially good during those nights trying to get him to sleep through the night and being able to see him even thought we let him "cry it out".

The battery life on the handheld could be better but we keep the 7" video monitor in the kitchen so I can always use that one during the day. I keep the handheld plugged in next to my bed at night.

I love this baby monitor!

My husband and I knew we wanted a video monitor but didn't know what brand, and my father surprised us with this for our baby shower. I immediately went home and looked up reviews, and was SO disappointed when I saw all of the terrible comments people had left! After two weeks of contemplating exchanging it for one with better reviews, my husband and I just decided to open it and give it a shot (especially since my dad got us the protection plan). And I am SO glad we did! We have been using it for three months now with absolutely no problems.

We have the camera installed on the wall (right up against the ceiling) looking down on the crib, and it allows us to see the entire crib. The night-vision is spectacular, and the noise detection/volume is even better. And I love that it comes with two monitors! We have never had an issue with being "out of range;" not even when we go into the backyard. I also like that you can either charge the batteries or leave the camera/monitors plugged in (and it comes with three different lengths of power cords!).

Bottom line, I highly recommend this monitor.

I am about to send this back to summer infant for the third time. This monitor has all the features we wanted so we keep sending it back for replacement and its too late too return. The volume on the handheld just stops working. All the other features work great. We didn't have any of the issues noted in the other reviews.

I receive it as a gift but never work! Very Bad Monitor! It didn't work at all! Always appear a mesage that says "OUT OF RANGE". After reading all this reviews i understand it is a very bad product. I will return it as soon as posible!

We received the monitor as a gift at a baby shower. My husband read the instructions, charged it but the large monitor kept flashing and then would shut off completely. We had to take it back and get a new one. We made sure this one worked at the store but haven't used it yet. (baby isn't here yet) So let's cross our fingers it works!

Unfortunately, this monitor did not work for us. I received it as a gift at our baby shower. We opened the package and tested it once before the baby came home and it seemed to work well. At about 6 weeks when the baby started sleeping longer stretches at night I decided to work on putting him in his crib and use the monitor. I turned it on, walked out and was in the kitchen for 5 minutes when the monitor turned off and said out of range. I went back in the room but it didn't pick up the signal. I checked the FAQs on the manufacturer's website and it said that we might need to re-sync the camera. I followed the instructions and it worked, but again turned off in 5 minutes even when I did not leave the nursery. Other comments on the website suggest that if you have wireless internet, it may interfere with the signal. Well, we do (who doesn't?) so it will not work for us. I am attempting to return it without box or packaging next week. Would not recommend this product.

The picture quality is quite good. What's bad about it is that it periodically loses connection to the camera unit and needs to be re-"added" or the channel needs to be changed. The remote unit is very nice and is probably its biggest plus.
