The Baby Touch Plus is a digital color baby video monitor in the Privacy Plus Series, the line of baby monitors by Summer Infant available exclusively at Babies R Us. Utilizing touch-screen technology, parents can remotely control the camera in the nursery and pan, scan or zoom the camera to get the best view of the baby, to turn the night-light on and off and speak into the handheld unit to talk to baby or help soothe a crying baby in the nursery. The Baby Touch Plus ensures a private and secure connection using digital technology and delivers access to innovative features with an easy-to-use interface. The handheld unit has a 3.5" color LCD screen with all of the controls right at your fingertips. We love this monitor! I have been using it for my almost 10 month old daughter from day 1. There has never been any problems at all. The only reason I gave it 4/5 stars is because I can see there may be an issue with the signal if you had a huge house. We live in an apartment and I am able to step outside of the apartment and walk down the sidewalk a bit and still get a signal. Perhaps if your house is massive this may not be the case for you. I know someone said it killed their Wifi connection, but we have not had that happen at all. I really like that you can hook the monitor up to your tv (not that we ever do). At first we just sat it on the ledge of her crib, but as soon as she started to roll we mounted it to the wall. Super easy to do.

If you have a WiFi B or G router forget about purchasing this item as this monitor runs on a 2.4 GHz frequency. This is the exact frequency these routers run on. Brilliant choice Summer! All sarcasm aside it's safer to just stay away from this monitor if you rely on wireless. I have tested the connection well over two dozen times and confirmed that my internet connection gets cut by 75% + when the monitor is in use! Sometimes the connection drops all together. Be careful when getting any monitor and make sure that it does not operate at a 2.4 GHz frequency if you have or B or G Wireless Router. There are monitors that operate at 1.9 GHz (DECT) frequencies which should offer a much more clear signal. I hope this helps someone from many hours of frustration.

I got this monitor because we have twins and I liked that I could get one camera, not two. I placed the camera in the middle of the two cribs and was able to rotate the camera back and forth, LOVED that. The sound is super sensitive and you can hear everything, it has great image quality and really great night vision. BUT, I hate the white noise. It's so loud and I get that it needs to pick up the noise of the babies, but seriously it's horrible and sleep is way too precious! I've lasted 11 months dealing with the white noise but I'm seriously so sick of it and absolutely would never ever recommend this monitor for that one reason. Everything else is perfect. Can run on batteries, has a far range, long cords if you plug it in, it's just the white noise that ruins the product.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    This is by far the number one product we bought for our daughter when she was born, who is now 26 months. I can't imagine not having it even now. We have a two-story home and the video quality is excellent, as is the audio. I love that I can move the camera to accomodate when she's moving around the crib, and the talk feature is wonderful! I've been able to get my daughter back to sleep just by talking to her through the monitor. I have recommended this product to anyone who will listen. It is well worth the price and more!

      I don't know how I did without this monitor with my other kids. I had audio monitors with them, but if it was silent... couldn't tell if it was because the baby was quiet or because the monitor wasn't working. With a video monitor, you can look and see that the monitor is working.

      The picture quality is clear enough to see even if it is mounted near the ceiling (like mine). You only see color if it is light in the room, but the black-and-white is fine. I never had any trouble with reception, even when I go outside. The battery lasts a long time. The charging cradle is so convenient, just pop it in and out. I keep one cradle in the kitchen and one by my bed.

      Love this product; I'm buying an extra today for travel.

        Love this product, all her restless nights I was still able to keep a set of eyes on her...and spend time with hubby without getting up when she would grunt and fuse to get comfortable...only con is the battery life is not great.

          I only used this product for three months before it stopped working. When it was working it was great, great range, sound and ok picture. But after just three months it stopped working for no reason. Then I had it replaced with the one year warrenty with the company (i had to cover the expense to ship it) and they replaced. The second one only worked for 1 1/2 months and quit working as well. The company said they would send me another under warrenty. Since my one year warrenty is almost up (they don't give you a new warrenty with the replacements) I will be contacting babies r us to see what they can do. I would NOT suggest this product.

          I purchased this monitor when my son began napping in his crib. The monitor was not reliable at all. For the first few days all seemed fine though at the end of the first week the video would not longer pop up on the screen ( when prompted) and a few days after that I no longer had sound either. I returned the monitor and exchanged it for another. My second monitor worked for the very first day, though after that day the monitor always read " no signal", I called customer service and they suggested it could be due to wifi on the home. At this point I returned the monitor and went with the motorola video monitor, and have been happy so far.

          Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

                  This is not a touchscreen. You can only touch the bottom and side of screen. Video quality is poor, especially at night. The nightlight is odd...too white. Not really worth the money.
