    We purchased this race track for my son (an avid Disney Cars fan) for his 5th Birthday. Boy oh Boy was it the right gift for our little guy! He plays with it night and day - seemingly without ceasing. Now apparently he's hooked on those cute little micro drifters cars...which translates to having to get "the rest of the Radiator Springs Gang" whenever they finally get released. Thanks Mattel for a great product for a very happy little boy!

    Track is useless, car couldn't loop

    I tried using it for 20 times, and each time the car passes underneath the motor spinner, it shoots the car up high, but not high enough that the car falls back down. ...Read complete review

    I tried using it for 20 times, and each time the car passes underneath the motor spinner, it shoots the car up high, but not high enough that the car falls back down. Of 20 times I tried, I believe maybe 1-2 times it did make it through. The track (blue part) is too high. The manufacturer must have known that car fails, and it makes a side track for it to falls back down, and be returned to the spinner with a press of a button. The downside is the car might not be in the right position. Either upside down, reversed, sideway. You can't reach in to reposition it as there is clear blue plastic roof covering it. You have to dig with your finger to get it out, reposition it and keep your finger cross and pray that when it goes up again, it can make it.

    On the very lucky occassion (1 out of 20 times) that the car makes it all the way up, it will roll down, side way, back way, hitting/bumping every corner. It is really no fun to watch the car race, because car doesn't race like that. It looks like the driver doesn't know how to crive the car lol! It's so called "drift" action is nothing but a mere 1 inch car with built in bead ball, rolling down.

    How does the car "drift"? Imagine a car, with no moveable wheels, but a metal ball loosely kept inside it's "body" so it can moves freely. You can see it through a hold under the car.

    Too bad the wheels are touching the floor. Since the wheels are not moveable, when a kid tries to push it on the floor, you will get some scratches sooner or later. I peeked under the motor spinner (where the car is between the spinner and track) and found that the plastic underneath was already badly scratched. Did I mentioned I only tried it brand new, for 20 times?

    The cars are cute though. Micro size, 1/3 of hotwheel size. Very detailed. Colorful too. I might buy just the car seperately as my son loves tiny car. This track set is going back to the store.

    This is the second time I am writing this review, for some reason ToysRUs is not posting my first review. Is it because I am giving it 1 star?

          This toy is a favorite for my 7 yr old grandson, Christmas day it was set up on the coffee table and you could hear him racing the cars off and on all day. The cars are tiny but he doesn't seem to mind. I bought two extra packs of cars and he gets most of them going at the same time. The enjoyment my grandson gets from this toy make it well worth the cost.

              This track was easy to assemble, had to put it on table because the legs fall off if its on carpet. If you have drifters this seems to be the best devise to watch them in action, my 3year old loves it. It's loud though and drifters can get stuck in the launching devise, lots of fun!

              This was actually picked out by my son as a gift for himself. He was given a gift card for his 6th birthday and when we walked the aisles of the store, this was his selection. The first one worked for 15 mins and then abruptly stopped, so we went back and exchanged it at the store. He has been beyond excited since putting this track together again and I'm sure we'll be buying LOTS of batteries because he plays it for hours. He also purchased an additional six cars to add to the track for his racing pleasure. Crossing my fingers that this one doesn't stop working -- Very satisfied!
