    you have to read the directions carefully and use simple short words or phrases as your password - pull the batteries out if you get too frustrated and start over! my 9 year old got a little frustrated in the beginning but once we got the hang of it she loves it and changes her password all the time for fun!

    I gave this journal to my niece for her 8th birthday. She was so excited. She loves it. She also likes that when her 4 yr old brother tries to activate the journal it does not recognize his voice and says "intruder". Two of her friends were so excited about this journal that they each requested it for their own birthdays. So my sister purchased two journals in purple.

          The voice recognition is so very sensitive that any slight inflection in my daughter's voice causes a "password does not match" response. There is a small, cheap, spiral bound notebook inside. The secret drawer is ok, but my daughter reset it with no password due to the terrible voice recognition. She is 7 & the problem is not her speech.

            I bought 2 Password Journals for my granddaughters. They were absolutely delighted with them. I needed certain colors and the only place that I could find them was at Toys R Us; in fact, I ordered one of them a week before Christmas and it was sent to me with time to spare.

                  My daughter received this for Christmas. She immediately installed the batteries and started journaling after she of course registered her password! She loves it!! It works really well with the secret message pen and voice recorder. Her sister tried to access it and her voice didn't match so it clearly works. Great gift for any girl within the tween ages.
