I bought this toy for my Grandson for Christmas. He was 21mo old. In just 3 months of playing with it he now recognizes and says almost all of the letters in the Alphabet. Thats him just playing with this toy that he LOVES.

I didn't read the specs clearly enough and assumed it would have the phonetic sounds of the letters, but this only gives the letter names. I don't believe it promotes early reading unless it is teaching the phonetic sounds. Still, my son enjoys spinning it and listening.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

At first I thought this was broken but after quite a few tries myself, I realized you need to push VERY hard on the button in the middle to make the wheel spin. Otherwise, it either stays on the same letter/animal or barely moves. It's deceiving because you can push it half way down with about as much force as a 1 or 2 year old would and it just barely nudges but sings the whole time. This was going to be a Christmas gift for my nephew but I'm returning it instead.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I used these gadgets with my four kids.
They work great and they do learn using these type of items.
Now it was time to get one for my grand daughter.
I was a little disappointed that they did not have it in stock only because I wanted her to have it on the way home. The ones my kids used, you had to pull a string. Now the new ones you just push a button.

I bought this for my 4 month old granddaughter. She loves to hear the sounds, tries to imitate the sounds and tries to spin it. Only more great learning to come as she gets older!! Love this item!!!
