Our daughter has had a step2 kitchen for forever, the boys play with it all the time- but I wanted something that was a bit more "boyish"!

Set up was a breeze. It took about 20 minutes start to finish and all I needed was a screwdriver. Once set up, I was surprised at how big the Master Carpenter Workshop was! Plenty big enough for three or four kids to gather round and build together!

The power drill and saw both make noise and add to the 'realness' of the workshop. The kids drill through the holes of the foam wood and 'saw' the pieces in half for what seems like hours sometimes!

The peg board provides storage for all the included tools. You can position the pegs up higher for older kids, or down lower for younger kids! There are plenty of drawers, doors and storage containers to store pieces in- but I would have liked to see a toolbox come with it! The kids have a hard time keeping all the pieces with the workshop and sometimes spend more time looking for missing pieces than actually playing.

The only thing that disappointed us with the Master Carpenter Workshop was the "indestructible" Durafoam. It is defiantly not indestructible. It took my 18 month old less than 2 minutes to bite through one and I find more and more each day with bite marks or missing pieces.

I am a step2 test drive mom. I received the Master Workshop for free to review! All opinions are my own!

This work bench takes a day to assemble and that's a big part of why I'm not giving it a great rating. The directions aren't too difficult to follow, but they could have made the project a lot easier by pre-drilling and re-ordering the steps. There's minimal storage for all the tools that come with the bench. The bench is pretty long - so consider where you're puting it and if you have room! A lot of the parts for organizing the bench are removable,which is fun for the kids but it's kind of a mess most of the time. The bench does come with a lot of parts and accessories that are fun though. The styrofoam "wood" pieces are cool to play with and put together, and the bench seems relatively sturdy. It's kind of pricey considering the cons.

Love this workshop. My 3 year old plays with it nonstop. Was concerned about the assembly due to some reviews I read, but was not difficult at all. Would highly recommend this workshop to any mom with a hard working, tool-loving, little boy. And Toys R Us even got it here in time for Christmas which I was not expecting. So grateful for that!!!

How cute is this.My grandson loves to build things and he always wanted to use his poppas tools,now he has his own and helps fix little things around the house,when he's not building his own.Great for teaching what the tools are and what they are used for.He plays with it for hours,and all parts are easy to use and put together.Thanks

My 4 year old grandson saw this on a commercial and wanted it for Christmas. I ended up having to drive an hour and a half to get one, but it was worth it. We all love it! We set it up in the kids playroom here at Nana's and my grandson looks forward to playing with it when he comes over. Good quality, realistic enough, not too difficult to put together.

This was a Christmas present for a four year old. I put it together and was impressed how solid it was. Parts fit together perfectly. The Lad loved it and has played with it regularly. Very good for imagination and project development. This is a very good product!

The product is very durable. We noticed that right off the bat. Takes a bit of time to build but pretty easy. The light is a fantastic, but to changethe batteries you need to first unscrew the light from the toy, then unscrew the backing and replace batteries. I am sure this is just a safety feature but a bit of a task.
The WORST parts about this product, it looks like there is tons of storage but there is NOT! The two cabinets in the front do not hold very much, same with the baskets found throughout. If you buy extra tools to go with it, you will not be able to store them. The open bin on the left, its large enough BUT it will be the only place to store the fake wood pieces that come with it. We have struggled to fit all the pieces where they go. Also the hangers to hang tools and the clear "jars", are not even worth your time, as soon as your child plays they fall off. I bought a few hair ties to wrap around the jars to make sliding them in snug, this worked for me and was much better then them falling and hitting my 3 yr old all the time.
All in all yes its sturdy and nice, thats why I gave it two stars, but not really worth the money it costs unfortunately. Before you buy it look at them in the stores to see if the storage will suit you.

I ordered the home depot master workstation for my two nephews, they both love it. The workshop has about 80 small pieces of tools and wood to create projects. This was their X-mas gift from aunty. I asked my boyfriend to assembled it. He said that the directions were very helpful. He finished assembling it in about 30-40 minutes. Now my nephews are having lots of fun with their new workshop.
