The kitchen is adorable with many attractive features (dog bed and bowls, lights and sounds, cabinets and compartments) for my 20 month old, but Step2 is skipping a step in construction. The directions show one putting the kitchen together with a manual screw driver, instead there are no pre-drilled holes in the plastic for thirty-some screws. Instead you have to use an electric drill to pre-drill the holes yourself (estimating their location) and then put the screws through the plastic. This takes a long time and causes a less secure kitchen. For the money, Step2 should pre-drill the holes and/or change the instruction manual (I looked at it online before purchasing). We returned the first kitchen we bought thinking it was a defect, but the two others in the store were also missing the holes.

My year old daughter loves this product. She plays with it everyday. My a on who is four also loves this toy. They could play for hours using the sounds and different compartments. It was very easy to put together. The only issue we had was we were given pieces to a different kitchen in the box. We contacted step two and they did send the missing pieces though.

Comments about Step2 Creative Cooks Kitchen:

I absolutely love this play kitchen. My husband has been begging to buy one for our daughter since she reached one year of age. We've recently moved and have the room for it!
It took about half an hour to put this together. I REALLY suggest opening it in store if you don't live close by as we were missing several important parts that we only realized once we were home. We were missing the pet station, the countertop to the stove and several of the smaller accessories.
We were told we could return it or call step2 for the replacements. What surprised me is the fact that there is a checklist in the box and the worker has to check off on each item to say its in there so obviously someone isn't performing their duties in the factory.
We were able to drive back to toys r us and get the replacement parts out of a different box so we didn't have to disassemble what we'd already put together. But I really suggest going through the box prior to even leaving as its a pain to take everything out, find out you're missing things, and have to get it all back in the box if your store doesn't allow what we did.
Rating this at 4 only because of the parts issue. Other than that my 18 month old daughter loves this kitchen and I know it'll grow with her. My son is 6 months old and I know as soon as he's walking he'll enjoy this kitchen with her. Worth the money.

I bought this for my son, yes a boy! He loves it!!! The bins keep everything organized and if you have an animal that loves chewing things up... the fridge is big enough to fit all the bins in to hide them lol. My son really loves this toy and I think it's awesome for girls and boys because of the neutral colors.

My 16 month old loves her kitchen.., she not that tall but she can reach the sink.,, this kitchen well grow with her... The material is a good plastic material., the only problem on mines is that on the fridge the lines of the product shows like if it was crack and the company glued it or that is how production made them... That the only down part.. Easy to built for my husband and me like 45 min jus st because were you have to screw doesn't have the hole you have to make the holes another down part but overall the kitchen is the best one it's wide for about 3 kids t play all at once the window in the middle open my kids use it for restaurant play

Comments about Step2 Creative Cooks Kitchen:

I had to drive over an hour to the nearest toysrus to find this play set for my 3 yr old. I saw a display in the store and loved it - seemed to be a good size that my kids would not grow out of right away, and could enjoy for a long time. I brought a price ticket to the register and paid for it. Then I showed the reciept to an employee who brought the box outside. I have a Grand Jeep Cherokee and the box didn't fit in the back with driver side seats layed flat. Anyway employee helped me empty the unassembled pieces into the trunk, broke the box down and placed it in the car, and I drove home. I got home and realized I didn't have the hardware packet so I called the store. They told me I could drive an hour back to the store or call the Step2 company for parts on Mon morning. I decided to go to the hardware store and assemble it the best I could until I could call for parts. It worked out perfectly. (Little tip for assembly get an electric drill if u don't have one as the holes are not predrilled and you'll be trying to get through hard plastic). Anyway I'm glad I kept the box because to order spare parts you need a code from one of the labels. The parts I needed were free and came a couple days early. I now have extra parts for anything that might need to be replaced in the future. All in all it was pretty stress free and then would do it all again the same way. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because there's one decal on the coffee pot that seemed to go on badly (crooked/bubbly) no matter how many times I tried to re-do it. Other than that I and my kids love it!!!
