Product Description
The BRITAX MARATHON 70-G3 convertible car seat accommodates children rear facing from 5 to 40 pounds and forward facing from 20 up to 70 pounds. The MARATHON 70-G3 is purposefully designed and engineered to minimize the forward movement of your child's head during a frontal impact to reduce the risk of head injury with the following revolutionary BRITAX head safety technologies: Base with SafeCell Technology® designed to compress in a crash, significantly lowering the center of gravity and counteracting the forward rotation of the child seat. Integrated Steel Bars strengthen the connection to the vehicle and reduce forward flexing of the child seat during a crash. Energy Absorbing Versa-Tether® features a two-point attachment and staged-release tether webbing to slow the forward movement and reduce the crash forces reaching the child.

The MARATHON 70-G3 also incorporates BRITAX Side Impact Protection to contain the child and protect from the most severe types of crashes. The five-point harness is tangle-free with an EZ-buckle system to retain the harness buckle in a forward position and harness holders that keep harness straps pulled to the sides to make boarding quick and hassle-free. Other features include a no-rethread harness and an easy-remove cover that also allows access to belt paths from the front of the seat, while the multiple buckle and recline positions, comfort pads, and infant body pillow provide premium comfort and positioning.

You can't beat the safety, comfortable lining and padding including stylish. The Lining is top notch and easy to clean. The issues I have with the seat: wasn't easy to install; went to local fire department for help installing; the seat is very tall, heavy and blocks most of my rear view mirror; our baby is 13 months, 22 pounds and 30 inches long and her legs do not have much room to move; the auto adjusting straps are very difficult and will make one side tight while the other strap is dangerously loose; it feel it needs improvements to justify high price.

It was a cost I was hoping to avoid, but my husband insisted on spending more for a quality and SAFE product. This convertible car seat is so easy to use, will work as our child grows and leaves us assured that in the event of an accident, he will be as safe as possible. My husband did the research in advance - so i cannot offer any more specifics but please take his word for it - this seat is superior to others!

Seats are great. Both my boys seem very comfortable and secure in their seats.

Tough install if you want to do it the safest way. I had the seats installed, no way would I have figured it out alone nor did I have the strength. I never knew that the safest way to install carseats was by using the seatbet, NOT the carseat latches built in to the vehicle!

Did hours and hours of research on what toddler seat to buy for my to be one year old. I couldn't find any negative comments, I purchased this one and a Graco. This one is much easier to install (says my husband) and my 15 month old looks much more comfortable in the seat. We travel long distances a lot, and he loves this seat much better than the lower-end Graco. I highly recommend this! I even purchased one for my husband's car and gave the babysitter the Graco for emergencies!

This car seat is worth every penny!!! My son is happy and super comfortable in it, he falls asleep in it often. My son is 16 months old, when it came time to switch from a infant seat to a convertable seat I spent a ton of time shopping around. I was set on him rear facing for at least 2 years. This seat was easy to install rear facing and with a mirror on the headrest I can see him well. I got the Britax boulevard for my Moms car and the side impact pads make it very hard to see him rear facing. We love this car seat!!!!

The car seat is very easy to install rear or forward facing using the latch system. This makes it ideal for me and my husband because we need to switch the car seat between our cars often. We originally purchased a safety first, but it did not sit well in our vehicles and was very hard to set up and install. This car seat can be installed right out of the box with no set up. I would recommend this car seat. Although it is pricey than other models, it is worth the price.

This is our fifth Britax car seat and I am reminded why we started purchasing them when our eldest was born. Britax designs a seat that is comfortable and easy to use. Installation was quick and it fits perfectly rear-facing in our '05 Kia Sedona.
