      I bought this for my 2 yr old. She loves it. She doesn't use the headphones much, but they do fit her head. It plays without the headphones. It has a lock on the back that locks all buttons(delete, volume, play, search). This makes it family friendly. So far it has survived being thrown on the floor and mild abuse. Its size fits her hands. It has a strap to attach to her wrist, clothes or hang on a door knob. Only negative thing is that batteries don't charge.

      Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

            Yes it's easy to setup, however not kid friendly... the buttons are very confusing for my 3yr old... the head phones broke in the first week, plus it has a reset button on the back which she won't leave alone... put batteries in it twice and now it doesn' work... not happy at all with the unit... I will definitely find her something else

              UPDATE: since my last review of this product, the mp3 player has completely stopped working. I thought at first it was a dead battery but it will no longer work at all. Trying to return it now. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!

              I was so excited to find an mp3 player with simple controls that my little guy could use. Price was great, and we got great service at a Toys-R-Us store which ordered it online for me with free shipping when they didn't have it in stock. The mp3 player was easy to load up with music and for a tiny little speaker put out a pretty good sound quality. I liked the kid-friendly headphones which capped the volume at a safe level no matter how high my son tried to turn it up.

              My complaints are that there is a big delete button on the front of the player. After about 2 minutes of use my son had deleted almost half the songs I put on it. And it was hard for him to distinguish which button he wasn't supposed to push because they are all red buttons and he doesn't read yet. I could have lived with that, but the headphones broke the first time we tried to use them. When we unplugged them from the player, the little metal connection that goes into the jack came out of the headphone's cord - so they are no good.

              It's a cute little player for a kid who is a little older and more gentle than mine I guess. But the headphones were really cheap.
