My son got this for his birthday almost a month ago. I wanted to wait a few weeks to post a review just to see if we were going to have the problems like a lot of others. Well, the first week or so, it was great, but then one of the pre-installed games, Fruit Ninja kept on freezing. My son is 4 so it was a bit frustrating. I just kept turning it off and turning back on again. Week after that, it was freezing more and then his favorite game, Angry Birds started to freeze. I wasn't too happy. Eventually, the whole thing froze and I couldn't even turn it off. Needless to say, I was pretty upset and ready to return the thing.1. I do not like the fact that Kurio's customer service does NOT have phone number, just an email. I emailed customer service about the issue and by end of day, had a response. I was told how to "clear cache". I did as they said - no more issues with this product. Works great now!2. Sturdy rubber casing. If your child drops it, you're pretty much safe.3. Please remember that this is NOT an Apple iPad. I did not want an expensive tablet for my kids to use (4 and 8). I was tired of my 4 year old playing on my iPod and getting on to You Tube and watching "bad language" flicks from the games. Now I have control on this Kurio. He can NOT go on to You Tube and if I don't want him using the internet, I can turn it "off" and no worries. Love that feature!! Again, remember, THIS IS A KIDS TABLET - NOT AN APPLE PRODUCT!!3. Yes, the games are slow to download, but I don't care about that. KIDS TABLET. Once they're downloaded, he can go on to whatever he wants and play it.4. I don't like the fact that there is no users manual. I'm the type that likes to read the manuals first. The only thing this comes with is an easy set up guide. Well, yes, that's easy, but you still have to figure out a lot of other stuff on your own and that can get pretty annoying. It's taken me awhile to figure it out to where I'm not getting upset at trying to find things but once you do, you're good.5. It's nice that the Kurio has some popular pre-loaded games on it like Fruit Ninja, Angry Birds, Cut the Rope and Where's My Water. It also has quite a few other educational games on there as well for pre-school up to (in my opinion), 5th grade or so. 6. The Kurio Store does not have a lot of games offered to download. A big disappointment there. BUT, I finally figured out how to download the Amazon App Store. Don't ask me how I did it, but I figured it out and now I have tons of games that I can download. Just like the iPod, there are free games or games you can purchase. Now I'm liking this table even more!7. Takes FOREVER to turn it on. I HATE that. But if that's now the only thing that I have problems with, I'm happy. My 4 year old loves it, my 8 year old loves it. I love the fact that I no longer have to worry about them watching or listening to things that I don't want them to hear.All-in-all, a bit confusing to figure everything out, but once you do, it's great. If it freezes on you, just contact customer service and they'll tell you how to fix it. Very easy to do. I am now very happy with this tablet and for [$], I think that it's worth it. Yes, it still has some quirks and no where near as good as the Apple products or Samsung Galaxy, but for a kids tablet, it's great. You have to be patient and not expect a 5 star product. This is a KIDS tablet and it serves it purpose well as far as having fun with regular games and learning from the educational games as well. And by the way, if you don't want the pre-loaded Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja, etc, then don't check them to go in their profile. Simple as that. You can just check off the games that you want your kids to play on. The games that you check off to go on to their profile are the ONLY games that they will see on this tablet. You can make the changes and add/delete games as you go. Again, very simple.Oh, battery life. It's good, but not the greatest. Better than most though!!

I bought two of these tablets for an upcoming 18 hour road trip. My oldest boys are 7 and 6, love playing on the apps on our iphones, and I knew they'd love these. I'm normally an avid review reader, but bought these on a whim in ToysRus. When I got home, they both turned on and allowed me to go through the process to set up parental controls. By the time my boys got home from school, one had stopped working. By stopped working, I mean, it would turn on (sometimes) but nothing would work on it, (no keyboard, or any interaction of any sort). I hopped online and of course, saw many horrible reviews of the product.

It seems that these things break pretty often. That, in my opinion is the main negative. GET THE BUYER PROTECTION PLAN through ToysRUs!! I ended up taking the broken tablet back to the store and they let me exchange it for the same model. This was a month ago, and both tablets have been working great ever since.

Things I like about it - the interface screams child, however, an adult can use this too. You can set up more than one profile per tablet, and on the parent one, I set up a calendar, and enabled internet access. On the children's profile, I disabled internet and several other features. They come preloaded with several popular games such as Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja, Cut the Rope, Doodle Jump, World of Good, Where's My Water, and so on. There are coloring book applications, book reader software (although there aren't that many books to buy in the Aldiko store), educational games, and cartoons to watch. There is a forward and rear facing camera, and you can take video.

My boys LOVE these tablets. Are they ipad quality? No. Did I have issues right off the bat? Yep. Would I buy them again? Yes- as long as I bought the $20 buyer protection plan. If you get a working tablet, they're great and I probably would have posted a raving review had they both worked. However, if you buy it, do so knowing that you may get a lemon.

My kids got tired of playing with their toys and reading the same books so I bought this tablet to try something different. They have not put it down since we brought it home. A favorite app they have is Color/Draw they use it to draw me fun pictures all the time. When they're not using it, I grab it to catch up with my shows on Netflix.

Great product to safe guard your children against the internet. If you purchased this because your kids are always asking to play games on your cell phone do not waste your time. This tablet does not have access to google play store. Also kids still have access to settings which in time caused ours to lock up and have to be replaced. I am not a fan of buying extended warranties but I more than recommend it with product you will use it. Seems like average life span of this item is about 4 months.

I have an iPAD that my two children constantly fight over. This past Christmas, we decided to get our oldest child this table, as it was an Android device and the Google Play Store has lots of great game.

We soon learn this table does not come with the Google store as an option, unless you jailbreak the device. We also quickly learned that all her favorite games that were on the iPad and Google Play store were not to be found in the Kurio store.

Netflix's does not work even when downloaded from the alternative application store installed on the tablet.

Wish I could get my money back and just buy a Galaxy Tablet instead. :(

I love the idea of this tab for our kids later on there gonna be so help full our future in electronics for this generation.. in the future please let us do the return at the stores when buying on line? It be faster rather then waiting my tab fail an froze an had to returned it hope fully thus one is ok... one other thing if we buy insurance fir the year don't make us buy anither one its not our fault the defective tab comes from fac. . IT HAS LOTS OF GLITCHES AND TERRIBLE QUALITY IT. IT SAYS IT SO GOOD BUT IT'S NOT. DURING A COUPLE OF MOUNTHS USE HAVE THE KEYBOARD TYPEING THINGS THAT I DID TYPE.
