This Machine has GOT to be the poorest supported hobby grade Heli sold on the US market today. Before you even consider the Carrera Red Eagle, try to find parts for it = Carrera-RC Red Eagle Helicopter (US Part# 501002, or DE Part# 370501002). You may just well find what I did, no parts in the US, but if you're willing to pay for transcontinental shipping ($$) whenever you need a $3.00 part, they have them in Germany...

Through my experience with this unit, the most common replacement part I can see you possibly needing, would be the fly-bar. Or, as Carrera calls it ~CONTROL RODS PN#990198 (US)~ a.k.a ~PADDELSTANGEN FÜR PN#370990198(DE)~, as it's what broke for me the ~first~ time the helicopter crashed. Or, to put it a different way, in the first half half hour of flight, due to impact with a stationary object, the carbon fiber rod portion of the fly-bar assembly snapped near it's axis and came free, sending this very thin, lightly weighted, carbon rod darting across the room at a high rate of speed. Fluke, maybe.. But my main point is, if you can't get the parts I listed by the time you're considering this particular "Hobby Grade" unit for purchase, I highly recommend you take a pass, do your research, and find a more robust and better supported model.

Beyond that, it flew great while it was still airworthy, decent battery time, very controllable and stable as well. The sad thing is it's a great indoor helicopter, just not at this price or with these after purchase support problems. If it weren't for the parts shortage I'm currently experiencing, I would most likely keep it (and wear safety glasses when it's in flight). But, combined with this shortage and the fact I feel it's more than a bit overpriced for the overall features and experience, it's going back to be exchanged for one who's parts are available.
