This toy is great if you play with your child. If you simply stick it in front of a child, they will lose interest which is normal. It is easy to put together and is attractive to crawlers because of the sounds and movements. When the child activates the part that pushes the balls out of the top and causes them to run down the sides like lava on a volcano, sometimes a couple of the balls escape the holders on the bottom. This is the time I encourage my toddler to toddle over to the ball and get it for Daddy so we can keep playing. Without interaction, of course the child will quickly lose interest.

Common sense says the toy will tip over if pulled hard enough. This toy is not intended to be a piece of furniture. It is plenty sturdy enough to be a great toy for what it is intended to do. It is helping my crawler learn to grab, pull, and stand. And, it promotes interaction between parent and child while developing those necessary balancing skills they need to ultimately leave this toy behind.

This is a horrible toy if you simply want your child to pay attention to it instead of you. This is a fantastic toy if you want to play with your child and see them develop the skills that are intended. This is coming from an older Dad that comes home tired from work that is addicted to TV. But, I have to say, my daughter and I love the Ballcano!

My 13 month old will pay attention to this toy for about 10 minutes max and then moves on. Typcial.
My concern is that the middle part that lifts the balls after only using it for a total of 30 minutes over 4 days, is already starting to act up. It's not working as well as it was when we first bought it. I think we might be taking this back.

Consider spending the extra $$ and buy something else.

I saw this on sale and decided to buy it for my 7-month old daughter. I thought It would be easy enough to assemble, but this toy made me loss my patience (I am such a patient person, but it sure got tested well with this toy). The screw was so hard to put on (there were 6) and I think it's because it's not the right size. The body of the screw is too fat to fit in the hole. I managed to have it assembled by using different screw and it's definitely holding it well. Fortunately, my baby girl seemed so happy playing with it (mostly with the balls), dancing with the music, and chasing the balls as it rolls into the floor, so my hard time putting it all together somehow paid off.

The device that pushes the balls up quit working after approximately 30 days. The music only now works intermittently as the spinning devices no longer always activate the music. I wish I hadn't thrown away my receipt.

This was purchased for my Son and although it looked rather bright/entertaining/fun, it was a wee bit of a let down. The balls tend to spill out all over the floor and after just a few uses the part that lifts the balls doesn't seem to be working as well. It does make great sounds and my Son is having a great time using it as a tool to help him stand.

Terrible toy! Balls would just roll onto the floor instead of at the bottom "ball catcher". 9-month-old was totally not interested in this toy. I took it right back--real waste of money.

Bottom line....dumbest toy ever!!!If I could've gave it zero stars I would have.Once it is put together it doesn't come apart.Balls take awhile to load up and when they do they end up everywhere and this is not a sturdy toy as it falls over with just a tug by a small infant.

My daughter got this as a gift from her dad to play with at his house. I personally like it. She was 7 months old and wanted to pull up on stuff so he got her an activity table. I think its cool to have all the balls pop out of the top of this and the lights are nice. It's not loud and the sound don't play forever which is kinda nice because when she does get bored and go to play with something else the the sound isn't constantly playing. As for the balls and people losing them, uhm toys with other parts tend to get separated so if they roll off the table it's fine! Don't work yourself up too much over it, I'm sure you'll find them eventually. My daughter is currently 9 months and loves it still. She pulls up on it, and knows how to make the sounds and lights come on. It's pretty stable on carpet so she holds on and dances a little. It's a child's toy, I don't see why people are hating so much on it. It entertains my daughter and my friends kids varying from 1-3 so I'm pretty sure it's not that bad. Toddles and babies have short attention span so I don't expect her to play with it for 40 min straight, but she will play on and off with it when it's play time. She has a blast with just the balls themselves. If I could change 1 thing, I would probably add something else to it... not sure what, but something... But overall Needless to say I like it over all, and my baby's happy with it so it's good in my books.

The picture on the box and the name of this toy made me think that balls would pop out of top of this toy. They just kinda roll down the side though as the center part of the toy slowly rises. I don't mind that the balls roll all over the house after being lamely dumped out of the top of the toy. My toddlers play with it for a short while and it does make a decent amount of sounds. I read the reviews prior to buying and I though "Oh it can't be that lame". Well it is. Skip it and save your money.
