We are using this on our fridge/freezer, we have a bottom level freezer, so our son was constantly opening that and digging through the frozen foods looking for icecream :) . It was very easy to install, does not stand out too much visually, and effectively keeps our son from opening the freezer and fridge doors. It's quick and easy for adults to unlatch though, so it doesn't drive us crazy each time we want to open the door. Also - when he's in bed or at my mom's place, you can just leave it unlatched, it's not an auto-latching device that has to always be in use. I'm going to order a couple for my mom to have at her house too!

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
