      Liquid spills out of this cup everywhere and would not flow into my mouth, much less a toddlers. If you screw the lid all the way down, it seals it completely so that nothing comes out. Basically you can't use the lid and without it, it's just a plastic cup. One review mentions a "valve". There are no valves on this cup. That review must have been meant for a different product.

        I bought this cup as a transition from his sippy cup to open mouth cups. Twisting the top on causes the liquid to surround the rim and spill out the sides of his mouth. There's no direct way to suction the juice or direct it into his mouth like a normal cup. He's better off just having me teach him how to drink directly from a regular cup. We use of the cup without the top, so basically worthless.

          My son's grandmother had these in his Easter basket from her, my son loves his "Mimi" cup. I think this makes him feel more independent and grown up, he can drink out of a cup like the adults (little does he know it has a valve)! I will be buying more!
