I never write these, and I read Consummer report mag on everything. My Wife purchased this for my Son because his cosins parents buy all kinds of crazy things and my Son thought it was cool. I thought it looked like too much work and difficult. I must admit I was mostly wrong. Its an amazing product for the money and its made in the USA. I am dissapointed in the other reviews after doing it. It works perfectly and it had over 600pc that I had to put together myself. Its amazing, it works!. Okay, my 7.5 year old who is much older for his age could not do it, granted but a great Father Son project. I did it mostly myself and I said there is no way I am getting this togehter! I spoke with a person from work and he told me the fun is putting it together, yeah right! Anyway, I did love putting it together and its a great accomplishment when its completed. Make sure you do it with your child and have him do all the parts he can do himself and take your time. Mine worked right away with no problems. However, the chain looked a little choppy when it went around and with close examiniation I noticed I had made a mistake in my assembly. I did take out a few links and add a few to be sure it worked best. I thought the instructions sucked when I started but they are actually very good. The images could be a little larger but if you get a good light you can see the slight detail in the parts. Also, I made sure I checked my work before I continued and it made a big difference. BTW - If you get confused by the few pieces that hang off along the way they are to hang the track at the end of the project and you can always make adjustments when you add the tracks. Get it but keep in mind once its done, what do you do with it? I put it on a table in a spare room.

It took a couple of hours to build with my six year old son. We had fun making it and even more watching it work. I think we are ready for our own design. I would prefer to have worked with bigger pieces.

Instructions were correct except for a minor error on page 23 (step 25 wrong - instead snap yellow connector one rail over).

The MAJOR tweak is that the gold car is too heavy and will not reach the chain lift without manual assistance!

This was very disappointing ... Santa's elves do make mistakes ... don't waste time tweaking the track, instead replace gold car with a lighter car (we used the purple car from Speed Coaster). This lightened the load which made the car go faster and reach the chain lift 100% of the time. NO CRYING NEEDED!!!

This was fun to build with my 6yr old. He and my husband had built and are still enjoying the ferris wheel. A previous reviewer states that it cannot function as an "endless loop". Not sure what he means by that. The chain DOES need to be connected as an endless loop and all directions were accurate to only one small flaw which was pretty easy to figure out. Where they have you use 13 sections of 10 increment chain pieces, plus a section of 6, that together made the chain a little too taught, to the point that it was snagging on the underside of the black wheel at the bottom half. That would cause the chain to break apart. Fortunately there were two extra chain pieces included, we added in another piece to loosen up the chain and it did the trick. It has been running flawlessly for about 15minutes now. We enjoyed this project a lot!

bought this for my 9 yr old...we had great fun putting it together (probably two full hours to complete); however, once together it doid not work. The rollercoasters track is cheap and would break; the most depressingpart was that the instruction were wrong! it could not function as an 'endless' loop given how they instruct you to build it - we got it working somewhat but that is because3 I AM a civil engineer. No way a 9 year old would figure this out by themselves. Don't waste your money.
