The Britax Marathon 70-G3 Convertible Car Seat ? Cowmooflage accommodates children rear facing from 5 to 40 pounds and forward facing from 20 up to 70 pounds. The Marathon 70-G3 is purposefully designed and engineered to minimize the forward movement of your child's head during a frontal impact to reduce the risk of head injury with the following revolutionary Britax head safety technologies: Base with SafeCell Technology designed to compress in a crash, significantly lowering the center of gravity and counteracting the forward rotation of the child seat. Integrated Steel Bars strengthen the connection to the vehicle and reduce forward flexing of the child seat during a crash. Energy Absorbing Versa-Tether features a two-point attachment and staged-release tether webbing to slow the forward movement and reduce the crash forces reaching the child. The Marathon 70-G3 also incorporates Britax Side Impact Protection to contain the child and protect from the most severe types of crashes. The five-point harness is tangle-free with an EZ-buckle system to retain the harness buckle in a forward position and harness holders that keep harness straps pulled to the sides to make boarding quick and hassle-free. Other features include a no-rethread harness and an easy-remove cover that also allows access to belt paths from the front of the seat, while the multiple buckles and recline positions, comfort pads, and infant body pillow provide premium comfort and positioning.

I've only used this seat forward-facing. I had a Honda Element and this seat fit prefectly. With the latch system, you just hook it up, get it as tight as you can, and go. The anti-tangle straps work perfectly to get your child securely fastened. When it comes down to brass tacks, this carseat held up when we needed it to. My husband and my 22 month old daughter were car #3 in a 5-car-pile-up. They were completely stopped for a train, when two trucks smashed into the back of them, one, then the other. Even though there was a Ford F-150 within inches of the back seat and broken glass everywhere, THERE WAS NOT A SCRATCH ON MY DAUGHTER!!! The steel frame held up perfectly, and all of the first responders commented about her being well protected in this car seat! Passengers in the two trucks behind us were taken to the hospital, but everyone in my car was safe. The cow print is just plain adorable, boy or girl. The cover pops off and is easy to toss in the wash. After being washed over and over again, it still looks perfect. It IS big and heavy, but it makes me feel like I am putting my baby in something safe. It's substantially more expensive than some of the other seats, but I've found it to be worth every penny. Insurance is paying for a replacement, so I am putting a new one in my "cart" right now! Thanks Britax!!!

We weren't sure exactly what we were looking for when we needed a new carseat, they don't exactly scream out their features. So we went in to the store and spoke to someone who explained several things about each of them. We had been leaning toward one but after a little education we decided that a little extra money was absolutely worth our daughter's safety. Britax tests the seats at 85mph rather than 65 like the others, and they have steel frames unlike the others. I also liked the progressive stitching which slows a child's movement in the event of a crash. After hearing several safety items, we moved on to functionality. The seat is large but it is pretty easy to operate and we liked that it had pads between the buckles & the child for their comfort. All that aside... I just loved the cow print. It's fun and we get a ton of comments about how cute it is.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I purchased this car seat in Feb. 2013 for my 8month old daughter. I LOVED the pattern and we are very "southern, country" people so it was a MUST HAVE! I measured it to make sure it would fit in my truck (2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac-Small sized truck). I received it and it was a little bigger than expected. It fits in my truck well but most likely will not fit so good in a smaller car. I cannot see over it to look at my daughter while sitting upfront. It will fit a lot better once I can turn it front-facing.

CONS: The size. Make sure you measure your backseat before ordering!! and not being able to see my child while the seat has to sit rear-facing.

PROS: Cute design! Very comfy!

I would definitely recommend this brand of car seats (but make sure you measure the size first)

This is the second Cowmooflage carseat for our family and it doesn't get any better than this. As a grandmother, I value safety, of course, but ease in getting the little one in the seat -AND BUCKLING - are something I also value. Also, because of the black and white, for some reason they love to get in the seat and that helps a lot too!

I love this car seat it was worth every cent I spent on it my daughter which is 9 month and very tall for her age had already out grown her graco myride 35 so I had to find a cars eat that would fit in my small Kia sorento and Kia soul and not to mention that it has to fit between to booster seats for my other two daughters and it fits great my daughter when she falls asleep she looks comfortable and her head doesn't fall forward and the latch system is great it fits nice and tight it also has clips for the seat belts ( if u don't have the latch system) so that it stays tight and for rear facing it comes with an adapter so u can hook the strap to under the seat so there is no rebounce but love love love it :)
