Looks are decieving... Great looking toy for my 4yr old son but when looking to place batteries there were no contacts in the battery compartment to work the lift. Needless to say my son was very dissapointed!

Looks neat! People and animals figures are good. Good concept. But unworthy of Animal Planet brand for 3 reasons: 1. The people don't fit into the cockpits well. 2. The large cockpit doesn't close properly. 3. A compartment on the driver's side behind the cockpit looks like it will open and has black "buttons" above it. After forcing it open (with a butter knife), we found it is designed for a battery-assisted crane but is missing electronics! Therefore, no power, no lights, and no sounds. Don't force it open - you'll break the plastic. Though it's funny to see the spots for 2 AAA bateries and no electronics...

I got this toy as a Christmas gift for my nephew. Upon first glance, the toy is really exciting, and I know my nephew will be excited by it, but unfortunately the quality isn't that great. The heiicopter comes with several human figures that are easily breakable and a few animals that are a bit better in quality. The chopper itself has many doors that open and pieces that remove, and taking it out of the box, I could not figure out how to latch the cockpit window down (it just opens and closes as you tilt the toy because it doesn't latch), and the mini chopper on the top is diffucult to remove and replace. The door that folds down on the back does snap closed, but was difficult to open again. There is a mechanism inside the chopper that lifts and lowers a hook on a rope from the bottom that is nothing more than a string spinning around a plastic spool that I can see being tangled easily. The cage for the animals is made poorly and the few times I opened and closed it I could see the plastic hinge whitening with stress. Overall, this toy is a really cool concept with alot of bells and whistles that I have no doubt a child will love, but I can't see this toy being something that would hold up for even a child who is gentle with toys. I am a firm believer in "you get what you pay for" and if I had paid $15 for this toy, I would have no complaints, but this toy was nearly $30, so I think the quality could have been a bit better.
