This bottle was recommended to me by a lactation specialist. It's terrible. Once the milk begins flowing, it comes out too fast and chokes the baby. I ended up using the bottle I originally purchased (playtex). My breastfed daughter has no difficulties going between breast and the Playtex bottles and she is now 8 months old.

wanted a product to easily switch from bottle to breast. splurged on this item at the store hoping it would make the transition easy. she was not interested in it AT ALL, but took cheap brown nipples in a dr. browns bottle easy! (dr. browns level 1 was WAY to slow!) glad she didn't like the product. it had way to many parts.

My baby is 14 weeks old, and we have gone through 7 different bottles trying to find one that my breastfed baby will take. I had almost given up, and then came the calma nipple!!!!!
She took it immediately, and drank 2 oz with absolutely no fussing.
I'm used to 30min+ crying sessions, where we somehow get 1/2 an oz out of the bottle.
I'm so relieved, and so grateful for this nipple.

My little one had problems latching on and a friend of mine recommended Medela's Calma. I tried it and it taught my little one how to nurse properly. We had nursing issues for 2 months and if only I knew about this product earlier, it could have spared both of us the pain and frustration of nursing. I love that my little one controls the flow of milk. Unlike other nipples, it does not leak milk unless you squeeze the bottle. This saved us both. Now he is nursing well and at the same time taking the bottle.

Our one week old baby took to this nipple with no difficulty and less spitup than with the standard nipple provided with the pump. The half ounce of loss was reduced to a dribble.

i was sold on the promise of using 1 nipple for all stages of feeding. too good to be true? for me it was. i followed the instructions included with the nipple, and started early(my baby was only about 4-5 weeks old) as recommended by medela. the nipple is large and not as soft/flexible as other nipples. that seems odd to me since real nipples are soft and change shape when babies are nursing on them. the nipple consists of 3 different pieces, can be annoying.

I bought this product because I wanted my husband to be able to feed our baby too. I found that even if the baby can control the amount of milk that comes out, my son was sucking so hard he was gulping down the milk. Also the nipple on the bottle is a very hard plastic. If you are looking for a bottle like the breast this one is not it. My son is 7 weeks old. We switched to dr. Browns bottles and he took it right away.

I am a first time mom and am breast feeding however there are times when I cannot breast feed and that's what the Calma is for. The Calma does not cause nipple confusion. My baby can go back and forth between the Calma and being breast fed with no problem.

My baby is a breastfed baby and is use to a sucking pattern to get her milk. As the time to return to work approached I would pump and give her a bottle to make sure she would take it for the babysitter. I started with Avent because I like the brand. Everytime my baby would feed she would finish 5oz bottle in five minutes resulting in half coming back up. Worried that she wouldn't get enough and the thought of all that milk being wasted (because its like gold!) I quickly began to research another option. I tried the Similac next, that too didn't work. I then started looking at Medela since I have the In Style pump. Skeptical of the price I bought a Calma nipple to test. Immediately there was no waste nor spit up! I now have six and baby takes both Calma and breast, back and forth, with no problem. The nipple has five pieces to clean, but it's worth it! If you have an aggressive sucker like my baby, then I recommend this nipple!
