We bought this set for our 3 year old about 2 weeks ago and he loves it. The pulley works great and has pulled up Thomas and several cars without falling off. The only con would have to be the take aspect, this one is hard to fold up and actually doesn't get much smaller that when it is out to play with.

I have a 1.8 yr old and a 3 yr old. They absolutely love this toy. It is big enough they can both play together and enjoy it. The pulley feature on this railroad is their favorite. Frankly, i am surprised it hasn't broken with as much and as hard as they pull on it. With that said, I think it is a great product. I didn't give it a 5 star rating because I purchased it for the portability feature. I purchased it as a toy that we could fold up and take on trips with us (as we are traveling a bunch over the holiday). When you try to fold it up or even pick it up the track just falls all apart. I wish the tracks were screwed together and not just snapped in. We have purchased other tracks for them that were snapped together at every track. The plus of this track is that it snaps together in parts (not each track). Plus, my 3 yr old can now put it back together when it breaks.

Not Very Portable

By edm3

Comments about Fisher-Price 1001124 Fisher-Price Thomas & Friends Take N Play - The Great Quarry Climb:

We have a couple of the other Take N Play sets and love them because they're so easy to fold up and take somewhere. My 2-year-old will often fold one up and take it to another room if his older brother and sister bother him too much! Santa brought this one this year, and while my son loves playing with it when it's together, the pieces frequently come apart. Folding it up to take somewhere else is a complex, multi-step operation that definitely requires an adult. So if you're buying this because it's "Take N Play," I'd recommend a different track (we also have the Rescue from Misty Island, and it's much more portable). But if you just want a fun track that's not going to move around a lot, this is one of the best.

My nephew Owen loves this Great Quarry Climb. He loves it also cause the name is Owen also. Every time he goes into the store, he has to carry the box around and cries because he wants it right now. However, he will be getting it for Christmas. Purchasing on line wasn't a great experience. I think that there were alot of people on the website. I called Toys R Us and got a great representative who placed my order for me. I received this item with in the time line the representative told me. It was wrapped and ready to be put under the tree. I would shop by phone again!

I ordered this product online (2 of them), was billed, had been following shipping and when my package arrived it had to very different items in it. It had 2 batman toys instead. When I called to clear this up I was then told sorry but the product was completly out of stock and I would just have to get a refund that would take over a week. I have still yet to receive an email about when I am supposed to be refunded. I am incredibly annoyed at this customer service and lack of preperation and disorganization during the holiday season

Comments about Fisher-Price 1001124 Fisher-Price Thomas & Friends Take N Play - The Great Quarry Climb:

My kids love this! I bought it for my 4 year old for Christmas and he has played with it every day since (he asked for it about 6 months ago so he was beyond thrilled to get it).
It was not too hard to set up, Owen's retractible arm/cord is a nice touch though he has a bit of difficulty attaching it to some of the take&play magnets.
The bit of slate is small and regrettably easy to lose but so far we have hung onto it. My biggest complaint is that the joint in the middle of the hill is weak and snaps apart far too easily, my son is constantly asking me to fix it.
My 18 month old also loves this set and wants to get in and play with her brother, though obviously it's not meant for kids this age, she has already figured out the big hill. Of the take and play sets we've seen, this is our favorite--the hill and the ability to pull trains up and then roll them down keeps my kids occupied for quite a while--I just wish the pieces didn't unsnap so easily and that it folded a bit more compactly. Oh and occasionally the retractible-pull-up-the-hill bit stops working, very aggravating!
But all in all, I love it and got a great deal by buying it at Toys R Us so I can't complain, they had the best price of all the places I checked.
