First, I don't see why the issue of how blue or how purple this item may look is such an issue. There are many more shades of blue than one might think, but this item is surely a shade of blue - Cornflower perhaps? Besides, when was it decided that purple was not a boys color? My son likes anything but pink so don't hesitate to buy this over someone's opinion of color - Look and decide for yourself, or better yet see if your child cares.
Aside from the color issue, this tablet is great. My oldest son is in Pre-K and has been asking and asking for a tablet. He started seeing the 2S commercials on TV and after researching other kid tablets on the market, this one seemed best suited for him. The content is great and we love the expandable memory - He loves taking pictures of his little brother. We do enjoy the wireless - no connection problems so far - makes downloading easier. We hope that this item is taken care of but just in case we did purchase product protection plan but holding up so far.

This is by far the best value as every retailer is selling the 2S for the same price - only you get a folio/case and headphones at no additional charge when you go with TRU. I'd also recommend the rechargeable batteries and/or wall unit (ac adapter) to save on disposable battery cost.

Its a great learning tab for kids, my son is four and wanted a ipad and that was to expensive. when his father desided to buy this item for him, i thought it was great! until i looked into how much the games really cost. 25 dollars a game, ipod games are $1.99! so, in the end this tab 2s ends up costing more! If i had to choose again, i would either get the ipad, or the ipod! this is a great learning tab for kids but if you dont have the money, you should go for the more expensive tab that cost less for games. my son got bord easily, with the 3 games he had.If your child is like mine, they too will get bord easily and want more choices! i got the two free downloads and one game that was giving with the tab. hope ive helped you deside, because i wish someone told us ahead of time about the cost of the games. i deffidently would of scrapped for money and went with the better product instead of thinking cheap!

Grandparents had me research the tablets for my son as well as my nieces. I said this would be a great one for all three given my son is the youngest of them all. My son got this on Christmas and hasn't put it down since. Rechargeable batteries or the charger is the way to go. grandparents purchased the warranty with Toys R Us and I'm glad they did. I have been able to replace his Innotab for nothing and I will pay the extra $15 for the warranty on the new one. It's great for learning and he loves the drawing and pictures. I love it as he's learned so much more on it as well as keeping him entertained while I deal with his little sister that joined us in January. I'd defiantly recommend this to anyone. It's a great learning and imaginative toy.

Don´t expect too much of this product

My son got this for Christmas and after less than two months it didn´t work anymore with batteries. Customer service told me they would replace the defective unit but because I live outside the US, they won´t pay the shipping costs so eventually getting the defective unit replaced will be more expensive than the actual cost of the InnoTab.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    I bought this for my 3yr.old grandson. He uses it quite a lot and I enjoy using it with him. It is very age appropriate and user friendly even for the little ones hands. I would like to see more activity cart. in the store. When I go to find a new one it is impossible to find any.

        My son loves it! It has definitely helped him along with words and numbers. I like the variety of games and music options, just plug it in and transfer his favorite songs onto the tab. The camera seems a little dim, you need a lot of light around for a decent picture.

          This was a christmas gift for my 3 Year old grandson and he was completely bored with the two games (Jake and the neverland pirates and Mickey Mouse Club) and he asked for my wifes Nook with games and books he likes.

          Very nice product for age group, great for educational use, down side is that you can only use vtech products for it. You are not able to download or access anything else from the internet.
          Definitively suggest purchasing the rechargeable batteries for the unit. We must recharge every three days or so. If taking on road trips, purchase the car charger too!
