This hat is very cute and thick so I have no doubt it will keep my baby's head warm. I ordered size 3-6 months because I thought a size smaller would be outgrown in a week, seeing as how her newborn caps were already getting too tight after one month. But this hat was almost big enough to fit my head! Sadly I'll probably have to save it for next year, and find another hat to keep her warm this winter. So be warned, and buy a size smaller than what you had in mind.
