I have a 2 year old daughter who likes to wake up at night. The monitor we had, created too much static and it was annoying. i bought this one to replace it. On the second night, my daughter woke up and I could not hear her at all. Both of the monitor pieces were on. My husband was downstairs and ran up the stairs because he heard her. I am taking it back today because it was not loud enough to allow me to hear her and I am a light sleeper.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

We live in a one story ranch style house this monitor is perfect for what we need it for. Our daughter room shared with us until she turned one now she is in her own room and we like to be able to hear if she is awake at night and needs us. There is NO static ever. It is reliable. We had the Angel Care Monitor and because we room shared we never wound up using the pad and the monitor itself was totally unreliable which is what led us to search for another one. It would shut off if there was too much static or simply stop working.

This monitor is very user friendly and we LOVE it, the only reason we wouldn't give it 5 stars is because since it plugs directly into the wall & unless you have an outdoor outlet you couldn't easily monitor the baby if you are outside. Highly recommend this monitor if you are sick of static and unreliable monitors!

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
