This small doll has exceeded expectations especially for it's price range. From the soft body to the cute sounds it's fun from sun up to sun down. I say that because when the lights are out this baby goes to sleep and doesn't talk! While one can wave a hand in front of it's face to make it talk it's actually changes in light that trigger the sound. In the morning when the sun comes up or when a light is turned on the doll talks. Hold the included bottle to the doll's lips and it makes a sucking sound. This appears to be triggered by the bottle because neither light changes or touching the lips causes this particular sound. It is one of a set of three each with it's own facial expression and clothing color -yellow, pink floral and purple floral. In the set I purchased the pink and purple dressed dolls have the same sound track while the yellow has one slighly different. Attention has been paid to detail. For example, while removeable the bonnet is attached to the outfit to prevent it from being lost. For gift giving simply take the doll, attached to it's cardboard display, and turn it around backwards in the box prior to wrapping. This shuts out the light and will prevent "talking" yet still allow it to work immediately upon being unwrapped and taken from the box! Over a full month of use on the original batteries (included)on the first doll in the set I purchaed. My expectation at this time is three or more months battery life but time will tell. Overall a very cute, fun toy!
