Third baby...have tried several bottle types over the years to avoid nipple confusion. This one works great, but the price point is very high. You definitely have to wait until breastfeeding is WELL-ESTABLISHED like the directions state to use this bottle/nipple. We first tried it when he was two weeks old and he couldn't do it. I tried it again this week at 3 1/2 months old and he was a pro. I do notice less nipple confusion with this bottle, and baby is much more "calm" during a bottle feeding session with this nipple. But I can't say that it is worth the extra money (and dealing with the extra parts). The jury is still out for me on this one.

This nipple has been very helpful considering that our baby has been exclusively breastfeed and all the other nipples we tried made our baby choke due to the fast flow even though they were labeled slow flow and 0+ months. This is the best option available for parents who will be switching between breast and bottle.

I give it a 4 star because I have yet to use this nipple/bottle myself, but my friend raved about it. She is breast feeding and she said her son latched really well to this nipple compared to several others. This nipple also came #1 recommended from her lactation consultant. Can't wait to try it out.

My son would do great breastfeeding for a while when I was mostly breastfeeding. Then for one reason or another (usually to let me get a little sleep) my husband would bottle feed him and he'd start sucking too hard on my nipples or worse yet biting me next time I breastfed him.

We read about this new nipple that was supposed to simulate a mother's nipple and it worked great! It just took him a few times to get used to it but after that no more nipple confusion! And we no longer had to worry about buying different size nipples because he controls the flow of the milk!

This product saved me! I would recommend it to anyone!!!

I was referred these bottles at my Lactation class. I have never used any other bottle and have been able to breastfeed and bottle feed my daughter for the past 7 months without any problem. It was the best advice I was given. If you are serious about breastfeeding these bottles are the way to go.

We used this bottle when our daughters specialist a chkd diagnosed her with failure to thrive and put her on formula. I wanted to go back to breastfeeding when she caught back up and medela recomended this highly!!! Love the nipples shape and the fact that my daughter had to use the correct latch and sucking to get the milk to flow but the problem was my 5 week old baby was eating 2 ounces in 2 minutes and half of it ended up all over me and her the flow is way way too fast! keeping this nipple for when she is much older! Loving the born free bottles instead!

I visited my Babies R US and learned from the store associate that they will soon sell Calma!! Moms out there - this bottle is amazing, I use this for my twins (preemies, but now 40 wks old) and learned about it at the hospital. I wouldn't use anything else. My husband can feed one with the bottle while I breastfeed the other and its identical it seems. I did not try other bottles so I can't say the difference with other types, but it has helped my new little family. A few pieces but worth it.

My son was in the NICU for 3 weeks, we had only been nursing for 1 week and added bottle feeding to supplement for 2 days before coming home. I was concerned that he would have a hard time with this bottle after having used the hospital disposable bottles. He had no problems getting milk from this bottle, quite the opposite! The milk comes out way to fast! It does take effort to get the milk started, but once it is flowing it was a flood. Not worth the money, we can't use this bottle.

I bought this product under the recommendation of a Lactation Consultant, when I was asking her questions about flow preference to and from the breast and the bottle. I was supplemeneting with formula and thought the wide base nipple was to fast compared to breastfeeding. She recommended me this product, my baby has a strong suckreflex and can get this bottle flowing just as fast as a slow flow nipple, even though they have to put some work into it. I'm still unsure if i would pay more for this then a regular wide base nipple. Maybe best suited for an older baby.
