My baby isn't due until August so my review is solely on the build quality and ease of assembly. The reason why me and my wife bought this crib is because we really didn't want the 4-1 convertible cribs because we don't like the look of those sleigh beds when it converts to a full size bed. Plus we figured by the time our kid gets big enough, we'll just buy him a real bed and this crib can go to his younger sibling or something. This crib fit all the criteria. 1) doesn't convert to a full size bed, 2)very sleek looking with simple design 3)no assembly required (in terms of putting a bunch of pieces together, all you have to do is fold each side up and screw into place the mattress frames which is very simple. 4) has a drawer on the bottom for storage for extra blankets, diapers, etc.

Also, some people complain that if you put this crib on carpet it's very difficult to pull it out because it's squeezed into the carpet. I have a simple solution that only cost $2.50. Go to Home Depot or Lowes and look for Everbilt threaded furniture leveling glides. All you have to do is turn the crib on its side, get a flathead screwdriver and a hammer and pop out the existing glides. I swear, these Everbilt glides were made just for this crib. The glides fit exactly into the hole the existing glides went into. Make sure you get the 1 1/16" or 26mm size though. My only gripe is that Baby Cache should have thought of this beforehand and just included the leveling glides right out of the box. But honestly the fix took me 5 minutes all on my own. Excellent buy, excellent quality! I can't wait to see my son in there!

My wife and I looked all over for the perfect crib. Some were tall and others were short. Some were horrible colors and others were bland. Some had interesting details on the back panel and others were plain jane. Some were cheap and others cost more than a king size bed. With so many choices to choose from, we spent many hours looking at cribs. We walked into Babies R Us one night looking for things to put on our registry. As my wife went to the bathroom I decided to walk through the crib section. I stumbled upon this crib and knew it was the one. I liked everything about it - it's not elegant but not boring. It's the color we want and the height is perfect (I'm just over 6' and my wife comes in at a staggering 5' 4" - the height of the crib is a bigger selling point than one might expect). When she saw the crib she knew it was the right one, too! She really likes the drawer that's under the bed and the "foldability" of the crib was definitely a plus (we'll be moving when our little guy is less than two years old - the easier the crib is to move the better!).

Fast forward a week after ordering it online (my in-laws wanted to buy it for us) and we picked it up at the store. The box was as a lot bigger than I was expecting - it almost didn't fit in my small SUV and it definitely won't fit in the trunk of any car (keep this in mind when ordering). The boxed crib weighs just shy of 105 pounds and is large enough to be awkward to move around. Luckily, we had a furniture dolly at home that made it easier to get the crib from the car to the nursery.

Upon cutting open the box you'll find the following: the mostly assembled crib, the mattress springs, and the nuts and bolts required to finish the assembly (plus enough styrofoam to make an indoor ski hill). Assembling this crib was quick, easy, and painless: 1. Unfold the back and side panels 2. Bolt the back panel to both side panels 3. Install the mattress springs at the desired height 4. Attach the front panel to the two side panels 5. Place the mattress (sold separately) in the crib. Really, it's that easy. Because the panels are meant to fold down for storage or moving they come out of the box attached with hinges to the base. It took us longer to get the crib out of the box than it did to actually assemble it. From opening the box to putting in the mattress I'd say we spent about 15 minutes putting this crib together.

The only con that I can think of right now is the drawer. It has rails like every other kind of drawer but it sits on the floor - having the crib on the carpet makes the drawer a little harder to pull out since you're basically dragging it across the carpet. I think this can easily be fixed by placing the crib on 1" furniture lifters. Or we may just leave it as is since the drawer will only be holding sheets. Regardless, this is one con that doesn't negatively affect our impression of the crib and it's easily worked around.

Overall, we definitely recommend this crib!

My husband and I purchased this crib for our daughter for when she stays at my parents house. The concept of this crib is awesome. It is so convenient for my parents to keep in their home without taking up a lot of space. Even though we have only had for a short time I will be recommending to my friends as an alternative to a pack and play!
