We bought this car seat for my daughter when she was 12 months old. We bought it because of it's high safety rating and extra impact protection. When my daughter was 14 months old we were sitting at a stoplight and were rear-ended by someone going 40 MPH. I had my daughter rear-facing. The impact was so strong that it pushed the back of the car up to our backseat where she was. Because of the steel frame she was saved! We were both transported to the ER and the doctor said he was amazed that she had no signs of any injury. He said that 99% of the time all kids have red marks or bruising from the straps of their seats. My daughter had neither! She was in PERFECT CONDITION! She is 20 months old now and still rear-facing. I credit this car seat AND the fact that she was rear-facing on her being unharmed! I encourage ALL parents to purchase this car seat!

Before I purchased this carseat I talked to a representative from Britax who was very helpful. I wanted to know about the fire resistant coating that was supposedly "toxic" that I had heard people talk about. She informed me that they were only toxic at a certain temperature (I believe it was over 500 degrees). If this ever happened we probably wouldn't be alive to inhale it. I would rather have this coating than not.

We originally bought the Britax Advocate and found it bulky, difficult to install properly and disliked the wings once we began to use the seat. I like Britax as a whole but regret buying this seat.

We recently replaced it with the Chicco Nextfit. If you're looking in the high price range go with Chicco- it is easier to install, smaller, reclines easier and feels better constructed.

I purchased this after many, many hours of research to put my large 13mth old when he was 6mths and outgrew his infant seat. This is a very heavy seat and seems very durable. I don't find it as nice as the Chicco he had previously, but at the time, Chicco didn't offer convertible seats. Anyway, the reason I did not give this 5 stars is that the head protecting wings have already had the styrofoam break. The whole wing and I have no clue why as my son doesn't fight too much to put him in, so makes me really wonder if I got the lemon in the group or what? Anyway, the rest of the seat is very nice, but now I'm concerned about construction as a whole. I've called customer service and they will replace the part under the warranty for free, but seemed not too surprised that this happened within 6 mths of purchase.

My husband and I drove to Arizona,Sun city last week. And we flew back to home two days ago. My son who 10mont old and 25lb is finally switched to this convertible car seat. It took me a month to get it. My husband and I compared it with other brands. We got an winner. Safety is my first concern. This car seat is more thicker than others. I wasn't sure about the look, but when my son was in it I feel so secure. We are frequent flyer. so I wanted to buy this car seat which has strong construction. My son feels very happy and comfortable. Choosing Britax Advocate 70 G3 Convertible Car SeaT was great choice I have made for my son.

A wonderful carseat. I had Britax Diplomat carseats for my twins, but they had little leg room, and they need to remain rear-facing for another year. The Britax Advocate has lots of leg room. It is also very safe, with a tether to secure it, in addition to the Latch system. I highly recommend it. It is a heavy carseat, but that is ok because I don't intend to move them around from car to car.

It's a little more pricey than most carseats but SO worth it. Very glad I bought this for my son, he's only 4 months but he loves it.

My 4 children and I were T-boned in our Mazda5 by a pickup going 50 MPH. All my kids are in Britaxes: my 5-year-old is in a Frontier, and my 3-year-olds and my 1-year-old are in Advocates (although my 3-year-olds were in the older model, with the light gray outer pillows). The 3-year-olds and 1-year-old are all still rear-facing, and will remain that way until they outgrow the rear-facing parameters.

Our car spun and rolled over into a pole. I was in the hospital for 2 weeks... my kids were uninjured. I have no doubt that these car seats saved their lives.

Obviously, with the crash, we needed to replace the car seats, and without any second thoughts, purchased 3 other Advocates.

My kids love their Advocates. They are so comfy in them, and have no complaints about "extended" rear-facing. Sure, cup-holders would be nice, but we added on the Brica snack pods, and they work great.

Britaxes are the Cadillacs of car seats. They are expensive, but my kids' safety is worth it.
