We bought this for my 12 month old little boy for Christmas this year and it has been a big hit! He learned to climb the rock wall by himself after having help only a handful of times. He can climb, turn around, and slide down all by himself. And he loves to push balls (included) down the slide too. We use it indoors with a play mat under it for now but plan to move it outdoors in the spring. It's great for a one year old...with close supervision, of course. Definitely worth the money!

My son loves it. Me on the other hand... not so much. Im actually kinda scared when he plays on it and I sit and watch him like a hawk. When we got it, it was missing the bottom assembly bar thing so I called the company and it was here before we knew it. No complaints or anything, which is a BIG + for me [that a company really responds and helps]
Well, since we put that bottom bar on (I had to use a rubber hammer to knock it into place cause I just couldnt get it to snap in) it seems like it is bowed out. Like the bottom is wider than the top, which makes it a little unstable. Also, the big hole on the side is kinda dangerous with it being bowed like that and my boy, being the brave little man he is, has tipped it twice. The first time I thought he was climbing on it, the second I just couldnt get over to him fast enough. Put a pretty carpet burn on his head lol. [I havent seen him stick his head through there like that since...] He does love it and throws a fit if he sees it outside in the yard and not on the deck or inside, so I still let him play with it. The making of it could have been stronger but its really cute and fun. Just stay close and watch out about the tipping over thing...

Comments about Step2 Step 2 All-Star Sports Climber:

Assembly was very difficult. The parts did not fit well together, an indication of design flaws and or poor manufacturing quality control. Instructions are pictures only, the parts are not identified by name. The parts that do not fit well, are as follows: The item that connects the two vertical supports at floor level, the slide, the steps, and the basketball hoop. In addition there are no pre-drilled holes for the screws, compounded by not leaving enough space to drill the holes vertically! I called customer service, but hung up after being on hold for half an hour.

Great toy.. Just bought this for our 2 year old and he loves it. Easy to put together only a few screws, but mostly snapped together. Nice size and the slide is perfect. Only thing you really need is a ball pump for the basketball.

Comments about Step2 Step 2 All-Star Sports Climber:

I got this for my son for his first birthday - I just got done putting it together. I want to start off by saying that I think my son will love this slide! He hasn't got to play with it yet so I can't really say for sure, but he loves to climb and it a typical busy little boy.
Assembly: I thought this was rather difficult to assemble. It took me probably about 30 minutes. The instructions just show pictures of how to assemble each piece, which I found to be really annoying. It would have been nice if they could have at least given tips on how best to get the pieces together correctly. When trying to get the leg piece connected to the platform on one side, I could not get the peg on one piece to go into the hole on the other- I don't know if the hole in the plastic just wasn't in the right spot or what, but after messing with it for what felt like forever, it finally got it to go in. I ended up having to take a screwdriver and a hammer to crush the peg in on itself in order to get it into where it needed to go. (I did take the pieces apart and put them back together 4 different times, so I am sure the error was not on my part as to why I couldn't get everything connected correctly) There are also 4 screws that come with this, but no pre-drilled holes. The pictures semi-show where they should go, but I am a little apprehensive to screw them in in case I mess it up.
Quality: It is a little wobbly when all put together (but maybe this is because I don't have the screws in yet), but it think it is sturdy enough for a 1 year old to play on and not get hurt. There is a large area on the slide that is a slightly different color and feels different than the rest of the slide, which drives the OCD part of me crazy. The brown side piece has areas where the front and back pieces of plastic were molded together where there are sharp pieces of plastic that I am afraid that if my son tries to catch himself or something that he will cut his skin open – I have a large scratch on my hand from one of these sharp protruding pieces that I got during assembly. I am not impressed by the quality of this item. I chose the step2 climber slide over little tikes because I have always believed their products to be superior, but I am really questioning my decision to get this item. I plan on contacting customer service in regards to these issues
The colors are nice – way less annoying then the red, blue and yellow sports climber slide

Comments about Step2 Step 2 All-Star Sports Climber:

We set up a play room in our basement. Our daughter loves it, but wanted a slide after visiting a friend who had one. So we found this. Because it has no cover, she is able to use it til she reaches the weight limit with out banging her head. Because it has a flat area between where you climb up to the slide, she has enough room to stand up and then sit (she is 18months). This prevents her from falling down the slide and also the back. It is simply perfect! We plan to move it outside when the weather is nicer, but until then, its perfect and she LOVES to play on it. She likes that she can kick the ball under it, and the circle up top, she can poke her head through and say HELLO. We are very pleased with this item and will possibly buy another later on for outside to keep the one downstairs. Most of the holes are predrilled. THERE ARE 2 THAT WERENT. We used some elbow grease and solved that problem. So you wont need a drill if your able to push hard enough to get a screw through the plastic.

Comments about Step2 Step 2 All-Star Sports Climber:

We're very happy with this climber. We have it inside in our playroom. My son got it for his first birthday - and although it's supposed to be for ages 2 & up, he is pretty coordinated and hasn't had any trouble with it. He loves to climb and slide again and again. The slides that are designed for one year olds are barely a foot off of the ground from top to bottom, and I knew he would grow out of those VERY quickly... so we got this one instead and planned to monitor him carefully until he is safe on the climber. We have had it for 6 months and haven't had any problems. He doesn't use the soccer ball or football much yet, but he does like putting the basketball in the hoop over and over.

I chose this climber for the smaller size. It's a nice slide, but there isn't much else to it... so if you're looking for something to climb through and around in, this probably isn't it. If you're looking for a sturdy slide with a few extras, this is a pretty nice one. I also like the subdued colors for indoors... it's not the regular "primary colors" that most plastic toys are.

It is pretty lightweight and easy for me to slide around if I want to move it elsewhere in the room. It would NOT be easy to take apart and move to other locations. Once the pieces are popped together - I don't see how you would get them apart & back together. It took some force to pop the pieces together, and I was even afraid that I was going to break it... but I guess that is just how it is designed.

This slide makes for great indoor fun and a chance to run off that unending toddler energy.

My toddler loves it, but the product requires you to get an item that most regular people don't just have lying around - a 4" piece of wood. I'm surprised people aren't commenting on this. I would think they would supply this item with the packaging, and I was very disappointed that I needed more than just the standard tools to assemble the product.
