We owned the City Mini previously, and its rain cover was infinitely better. The City Select Weather Shield is awful and hardly does its job. There are a number of problems we've had: 1. There is a single hook at the bottom to hook the cover onto the bottom of the seat. If the child extends their legs to stretch/kick, the sides of the rain cover open up and the 'feet' area of the seat then gets filled with all the water that runs down the rain shield. The foot area creates a pocket that fills up with water and the child's feet get soaking wet 2. There is a single snap at the top of the rain cover that attaches at the back, behind the seat. The snap isn't strong enough and frequently comes undone when going over bumps, or when the child decides to kick/push the rain cover. The rain cover can then easily fall off the front 3. The rain cover does not appear to attach to the seat at the back - it snaps to itself. ...although this seems like a horrible design, so I'm hoping I just haven't understood how the rain cover works :) Please let me know if I'm doing it incorrectly. The problem here is that when you get to your destination and unhook the bottom of the cover to take the child out, it's easy for the rain cover to fall off. It's not attached to the seat anymore, so the tiniest bit of wind will blow it off (likely into a big puddle on the ground). I'm incredibly disappointed with this stroller cover. It wasn't nearly as good as the City Mini stroller cover that we had previously. That one had two bottom snaps, a zipper, and loads of velcro that wrapped around the handlebars and down the back to keep it very securely fastened. It's hard to believe it's the same price as the City Select rain cover, which is almost useless by comparison.

Comments about Baby Jogger 1006582 Baby Jogger City Select Seat Rain and Wind Canopy:
I bought 2 of these rain covers for my city select with a second seat. The rain covers were expensive and both have turned a gross white/yellow opaque and I can't use them. I ended up purchasing a $10 rain cover that is way better than these $40 covers. I do not recommend.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

No longer functions with visibility for my child
While I love my City Select, my baby jogger rain cover was used for a season, stored over winter, and has turned an opaque/yellow color and is no longer in usable condition. Terrible product and terribly expensive.
Cloudy after 1 year

I bought this for our city mini and after one year, the plastic has completely clouded. I can't seem to find a way to get it to clean. Not worth $40.

Poor quality, doesn't stay on
from Connecticut, United States
Opened box to find the cover an opaque white color rather than clear. When on stroller the bottom part will come up if my daughter stretches her feet and touches it at all (which happens a lot with a toddler. Poor quality, not worth the $40.
Plastic turned white after 1 season of use
from Bay Area, CA
I after only using it a few times, the plastic went from being clear to being dirty and white. Not impressed. The size and fit is great, but now I can't use it because my baby hates not being able to see what is going on around him.

Have 2 of these, as I have a double city select. They were great until they became opaque and foggy. Now my child fights to have it put on which means I'm fighting to even go out when it rains! Expensive piece of plastic which can't even be used for its intended purpose!
Rain cover has a dirty foggy look
By Mommy of one

I bought the rain cover, used it for one season of winter, anyways dried it before putting it away. Took it out this year and it has a foggy coating on it. I've washed and cleaned it but it's still foggy. My toddler hates when I put it on now cause she can't see through it. Was a great weather shield till the foggy coating happened.
Very bad quality
I bought two rain covers for my double stroller and I am so disappointed honestly. The plastic is far from being see through now. It's yellow/opaque colour which frightens my kids hence they hate it and I can't put it on for them when it's raining.
Dont dare put in storage
from Astoria, ny
I put my city select in storage(in their boxes) with the rain cover because I got pregnant with my 2nd child and the city select was too heavy for me. 9 months later took the stroller and rain cover out of their original boxes and my rain cover has turned an opaque white and isn't cleaning.waste of $40.
